Sending I-130 packet tomorrow!!

Hello fellow VJers!

I got married to my UK citizen fiancé last Saturday, April 14! Sadly though, he had to fly back to London tonight to go back to work and start tying up loose ends in preparation to move to LA hopefully soon. Since we are now husband and wife our I-130 packet is now ready to go! Here's what I have enclosed:

E-notification form

Cover letter

I-130 petition

Check for $420

My G-325A form with photo attached (labeled in a baggie attached to piece of paper)

His G-325A form with photo attached

Copy of my birth certificate

Copy of his birth certificate (I know it's no longer required but didn't think it'd hurt)

Copy of my divorce judgement

Copy of his divorce decree

Copy of our marriage certificate

Copy of my passport bio page and pages showing trips to UK

Copy of his passport same as above

Letter from Chase bank to show that we are joint users on my checking acct

Photos of us over the course of our relationship including wedding photos in a Baggie attached to a sheet of paper with short descriptions of each photo. Also on the back of each photo I labeled who is in the photo and where/when the photo was taken.

Copies of boarding passes as further proof of multiple visits.

As a California resident, I am sending my packet to the Phoenix lockbox. Any idea what service center it will be sent to? I think I was told before that it would be sent to California or Vermont? Any idea how long the processing times are for these service centers? Is there anything else I should include in our packet? I'm so excited but also nervous that we ate finally getting this thing started! Advice is appreciated!! Thanks everyone

How about letters/affidavits from relative/friend? You don't have to but if you can have someone type up a quick letter. It should be someone who has spent time with both of you before, during and after the wedding if possible. You really don't need of the photocopies of your husband's stuff as the NVC will be wanting that later...just extra paper. Good Luck!

Actually, 2 affidavits are preferable from what I can recall reading in the I-130 instructions.

I'm all for sending good evidence with a petition. However, there is no reason to include fluff pieces. As you correctly state, his birth certificate is not required and there is no reason to needlessly put fluff pieces with your file.

It will be California or Vermont, you will not know which one until it has already been forwarded from the lockbox facility. You should plan on waiting at least 5 months before hearing anything. You may hear sooner than that time, you may hear later than that time.
