RickJovi, there is nothing wrong with your comment. I understood your point. Yes, we have a long time to wait and we should be well prepared for what comes next. Thanks to USCIS for their hard works as we know there are many thousands upon thousands of petitions they've been working on.

Thanks. I have made numerous posts and help people from my Philippines mostly, as I am more familiar with the K1 VISA procedures, since I have been through it once before. At that time the whole process with and RFE, Embassy interview with VISA in hand was 4 months and 5 days. That was back in 2010. Don't what the difference is now that is causing things to be so slow. I have never been insulted in a post before. The quote "People like you" to me is an insult and some people if you said it to based on ther race, might consider it a racial slur. I am okay. I will just stay away from posts involving the Dominican Republic users.

The one thing to realize is that VJ timelines and the overall average will fluxuate based upon when the people update their individual timelines. I have seen the processing time remain the same for 2 or 3 days in a row, and then all the sudden the average time NOA1 to NOA2 changes and the date provided changes. Over this past weekend I see people updating on Monday from an NOA2 on Friday.

VSC still hasn't processed I-130's from early December. It definitely seems like it is slowing down compared to last few months.

If it makes you feel any better, about a year ago, processing was even slower: we were October filers and NOA2 arrived in April!! So was more like 6-7 months. Hang in there, it will come soon!

RickJovi, I agree with you, the quote "People like you should just not comment" sounds offensive not only to you but also to me because I was reading the same post.

Why should you be frustrated? You are only 2 months and 11 days from you NOA1. You have a long way to go, so sit down and be patient like the rest of us. Your average processing times for an I-130 from the VSC is 5 months. I filed a I-129F and it is in CSC with an average time of 5 months. I filed mine and received my NOA1 on December 8, 2011 and am still waiting for the NOA2. It looks like mine could be as early as the end of April or early May which is around 5 months. SO getting frustrated is not going to help you and will not get your petition to move faster. USCIS will get to it when they get to it. We are all at their mercy.

No disrespect RickJovi but this is not the first, not the second, not the third time reading such a comment. What is this all about? "You've only been waiting one, two months. Why are u worried yada yada yada" It doesn't really matter how long u have been waiting... Even weeks seem an eternity when ur far away from ur love and sure u get impatient and want to see some progress... Where's the understanding? I just don't get it :D But that's just my 2 cents.

Like I said, nothing personal or anything like that but this is just something I've noticed ...

Racial slur?? Gimme a break! The reason I used the term "people like you" was because of the CONTENT of your post. Even if you did not mean to be rude, your post came off as arrogant and not very tasteful. You commented that the OP should not feel frustrated and wrote "sit down and be patient like the rest of us". I don't understand how this does not sound rude. There are different ways to say things, everyone here misses their SO and once in a while we all use VJ to vent a little. Is that so wrong?

I totally understand why the OP is frustrated. VSC has been moving really fast the last couple of months, while CSC is moving slower for the most part. Judging by this, she can't help to wonder why her petition has not been approved. Sounds valid enough to me! Notice how I also offered some encouraging words and told her to be patient, but did it very differently than you. Yes, you are entitled to your own opinion, and you are free to say things how ever you please, but be cognizant that people can be sensitive, which most of us during this process are.

From time to time I read posts about expedite request, visa denial or waiting frustration that I think their reasons are weak or silly. But I say nothing, I keep my mouth shut when I don't have anything useful to contribute because I remember why we all are here in this VJ community.

We are not here to turn our frustration venting against each other. We are on the same team here to support each other during this "visa journey".

Those of us on VJ that have been through the process, and the waits, know that if the OP is already complaining about having to wait two months with no action, when the process does not grant, for the most part, a successful petition for far longer, then they are in for an immense lesson in patience. To think that an approval comes in so short a time frame, and to start prematurely moaning when it hasn't, indicates an unreasonable expectation on the part of those who do this.

It's all well an good to be annoyed, frustrated, emotional, to struggle with the wait, so long as we realize it won't change a thing. The time frames are what they are, that they consistently run over is well known, that we all despise waiting is a fact, but that USCIS are the only game in town, and your approval will come when it comes.

I can explain it to you. But I can't understand it for you.

Just because you don't see update on VJ immigration timeline, it doesn't mean that they have slowed down.

What I do to keep my spirit up and to kill time is to check the USCIS status website, and check the status of random case number in there and keep track of where they are in the processing date.

I wrote down several sets of these random cases for different dates like 15th nov, 21st nov, 25th nov, 30th nov, 7th dec ... etc

For example, I have written down about 5-10 random case number for I-129F at CSC for 21st november I noticed today that the majority of these cases got approval yesterday. So I know for sure that CSC is working on 21th + november petitions.

I find this much more reliable than VJ timeline but also a lot more time consuming though. In VJ timeline, the dataset is small and sometimes people are not actively update their timeline.

Another thing that helps me not too worry too much is looking at the statistics on USCIS, for I-129F they complete 1500-2000 cases every month, so you can take it and know that they are working on it and stop worrying about "daily" update.

I'd be interested to know which case numbers you use to check the CSC status of various records! I did try doing a similar thing, but after clicking for ages through so many I-130s I failed to find many I-129fs! Care to share? I obviously have mine (NOA1 was 18th of January), but some November, December and early January numbers might give me something to look at too!

I think our Government is smarter than we think. Maybe there is a reason why they take a long time to approve some petitions. It gives a lot of people time to think, if they want to go thru with this lengthy procedure. If it would take only a couple of weeks to approve some petitions, there would be a lot more people applying for visas, and a lot more people coming into to the U.S. and a lot more divorces, and a lot more heart brakes.
