Hello,

I just got off the phone with someone at the NVC and they entered our case and generated a GUZ number. The gentleman I was talking to said to send in an email with our names and DOB and just say we want to do the EP. He said once we do that we will wait for more instructions later. However, I am reading some posts saying to wait until the AOS fee is paid to waut to enroll into the EP. What should I do? Thank you.

Wait for the AOS Fee bill. IF you not get one by Wednesday of next week, call in to NVC, and ASK for an AOS fee bill to be sent to your email inbox.

Good Luck !

I opted in as soon as I got a GUZ number. I had no problem with AOS billing. Perhaps I was lucky. Anyway, Opting in now or after AOS is billed is but a matter of a few days. If you choose to wait, stay on top of it and do as Darnell suggests and call NVC.

To be factual, alas -

It was Palladin and FooBaz(somenumbers) that suffered pain and lag from sending the OPT in before the AOS Fee bill was invoiced.

In another one of your threads, CenturyMN, Ryan H posted the links for these two members, so if'n ya click the links, you can read exactly what happened to them. 3 weeks lag on each, IIRC.

But - I've always said to wait for the AOS FEE BILL to be generated, and received in the email inbox - it's a true sign that the internal switch at NVC IS ON, they are 'listening' and waiting for electronic stuff from you.

FWIW, OPT IN and AOS FEE BILL are separate paths, but one is a trigger for the other.

Once the OPT IN is accepted (because of the logic flow on DS-3032 intake) an IV fee bill is invoiced, as well.

In the mean time, can pay the AOS fee bill as it shows up.

Not too much is serialized, here - many things run in parallel, these steps for OPT IN and DOC INTAKE and FEE BILLs, but there are gateway events on each thing - I hope that makes sense?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Hello,

They sent the AoS fee to my email and I paid it last night. The fee is currently processing and I am going to go ahead and send them the email for the EP today. I took the ds-3032 they sent in the email with the bar codes and fill them out and sent it to my wife. she printed it out signed it and scaned it back to me to send out with our OPTIN email. Also, for the ds-3032 we just need to send in the one page of the pdf they sent me or do they want the full pdf? If I am doing something wrong please inform and correct me. Thank you.

Have your wife print and scan a DS-3032 WITHOUT the barcode, I remember reading something in Darnell's wiki that using the DS-3032 they sent is is not the right one.

Uhm, you could have used the DS-3032 that's in the files section in my EP wiki, at http://www.visajourney.com/wiki/index.php/NVC_Electronic_Processing

Then SHE can simply take that file, fill it out on her computer, print it, sign it, scan it, email it to you.

In the past, this DS-3032 that came in with the 'DS-3032 kit' via email from NVC, was NOT fillable on a computer with AcroBat or Foxit, at all.

Was this barcoded version that you received 'form-fillable' or no? NVC still accepts that version, but (IMO) it's expired..

Hello,

I have already sent out the bar code ds-3032 they sent with our OPTIN email this morning. We filled the form by hand, at the top it said type or print, she signed it and sent it to me and I sent it out. I guess we will see what happens.

So it doesn't matter which DS-3032 you send? You're right that it's expired (apparently all the way back in 2006), but they are the ones who sent it. I already have it signed and scanned, will it make a difference if I use it instead of the one linked in your NVC wiki? The content is the same, except for the barcode. So I just attach a scan of it to the Optin email, which should be sent from the applicant's email address?

Thanks for your help, the electronic processing portion of this is a little confusing...

for the ds-3032 - it really doesn't matter which one is used - i prefer the d/l one as it's:

1. current

2. form-fillable

3. easy to send via email to yer spouse

4. requires one less round of 'print/scan/email' than the one with the barcode.

I claimed it was the wrong one for some years now, as it expired in 2006. They still accept it though.

o I just attach a scan of it to the Optin email, which should be sent from the applicant's email address?

Yup Yup - though Ryan H and others have sent if off from the petitioner's email address, as well.
