Saylin is the go-to girl for NVC procedures but you can take a look at my timeline and signature for an idea of UK specific timings.

Have you booked/had your medical yet?

I can help with the general stuff, but for UK, I can't be of much help there. But with your timeline, it'd give the UK posters a good idea on time frame for the interview process good.gif

You can book your medical as soon as you have your LND number and the results are valid for 12 months. You have to have it done before your interview but they won't send you anything about it. The information is all in these two links:

You can submit the AOS package as soon as the I-864 invoice shows paid and then the other package - the forms and documents - as soon as the IV bill is paid. You need the barcoded cover sheet and receipt for each invoice to go with each of the packets.

I'm sorry, I don't know for sure about the birth certificate but my instinct would be that she would need it. Have you submitted it at all so far? i thought a copy had to go with the original petition and then I am pretty sure the original has to go to NVC and that is as much for proof of your biographical information (since they always seem to require a long form with both parents' names), as much as for proof of citizenship. Have a look at the London Embassy link I gave you, there is a section on there about the documents required:

I haven't submited anything since paying those two bills. I shall get on those as soon as possible I guess. I can print the bar coded coversheets from the site where I paid the bills right?

I didn't submit her birth certificate as we dont have one with the orignal petition. now to think of it I don't even have a birth certificate myself. I have my US natraliztion certificate which I sumbited with copies of the passport pages. in her case we just submited her bio date forms and copies of her passport picture page.

check with your consulate, After the $88 and $404, I've had to pay $300 for Medical and X-Rays, and $350 to the consulate for the interview fees. My wife's interview is in 1.5 weeks and they ask her to bring $5-15 in cash to pay for Courier Fees to get her Visa delivered.

Other then that, I think it's just the Plane ticket to the U.S.A

Yes, print the receipts from the payment page.

I can't remember if we sent a birth certificate with the original petition but that was obviously ok as they approved you but I think she will need one at some point. I think you only need to be able to prove your citizenship so your naturalization certificate is probably sufficient. I would check the NVC forms to see what is required.

This is copied from my interview appointment letter although most of the documents went to the NVC:

MY NAME must bring the following to the visa interview:

* Any original documents that were requested by the NVC but were not submitted to the NVC

* The medical examination results if not submitted to the Embassy/Consulate by the physician (the clinic will send these)

* The correct size and number of photographs

* Valid passport for all traveling applicants

The following table lists the documents requested by the NVC and whether or not the NVC received them. Please note that even though the applicant may have provided the NVC with a copy of a document, the applicant is still required to bring the original document to the visa interview.

Thanks Cathy, I have another questions.

from reading over vj posts it seems like I can submit the aos packagae as soon as the iv bill shows paid online correct? also I have read that the beneficiary's birth certificate is required with one of the froms. My wife is UK citizen but she wasn't born there. She only has her UK documents like passport and Naturaliztion certificate. Does she still need a birth certificate from the country she was born in? or can the Uk natraliztion certificate will sufice instead of birth certificate?

Thank you

It doesn't matter if her birth certificate is from a different country than of her current residence. A birth certificate is MANDATORY in the IV package.

After you pay a bill, there will be a button that says 'document cover sheet'. That is the bar-coded cover sheet that we all talk about.

Here's a link to a screenshot of my payment portal: http://i128.photobucket.com/albums/p174/smurf47/Immigration/Payment%20portal%20screenshots/AOSreceiptscreenshot.jpg See the 'Print Document Cover Sheet' button near the bottom? That's what you need to press to get your bar-coded cover sheet.
