Hello please advice. I am a US citizen and I recently mailed the I130 to petition my wife. What can I expect as evidence I just mailed the marriage certificate I did not include any other bonafides :( I did not send Affidavits of third parties :( Will they ask me for more evidence? Could they deny my petition?

Will they ask me for more evidence?

They may, or they may not. I find it extremely unlikely that your petition would be outright denied.

Peoples opinion of your personal situation are basicly useless. Who would submit documents that said anything other than what you asked them to say? If they ask for more evidence it probably wont be in the form of letters from your friends or family.

Married is married & you will be fine.

By sending the marriage certificate, you have proven that you are legally married.

If they feel there is not enough evidence to determine it is a bona fide marriage I suspect they'll probably just send you an RFE (request for evidence) to which you will be able to reply without your petition going back to the beginning of the line again.

I highly doubt they would deny your petition without sending an RFE.

You might not get an RFE, but it's a good possibility that you will. So I'd prepare some evidence in the event that you do.

Be wary about sending them evidence regarding money. If it's from the USC to the beneficiary, it's not that big of a deal, but if it's from the beneficiary to the USC, it'll get you in more trouble than anything. (While sending money between couples is normal, it could also show this is just a business transaction). If it's just airtime sent from the USC to the beneficiary though it should be fine.

Here's what my wife sent with the I-130:

- Copies of her passport stamps, showing she has been to my country for a total of 5 months in one year.

- 12 pictures showing us in various different countries (vacations) and some with family.

- Copies of a couple months phone bills, with all calls/texts to and from me outlined.

If you send pictures, remember this: It's not quantity, but quality.

You can send 100 pictures of you guys together in the same setting and it won't prove anything at all. In fact, if they're all from the same setting it's just as likely they'll believe them to be staged pictures.

Or, you can send 10 - 20 pictures of you guys together showing different settings, different seasons, different haircuts etc. and it goes far to prove that you spend a lot of time together. If you haven't spent too much time together in various places, at least be sure to include pictures with family, friends etc. And at least a few different settings.
