interview for k-1 on April 17th.... question

My fiance and I have the interview scheduled for April 17th.... we are interviewing in Juarez Mexico and having the visa sent to the DHL office in Juarez as well. Since we are staying in Juarez to wait for the visa to be in hand I am wondering how long we should stay for. I am preparing to book the hotel for our stay and I'm wondering how long we should book the hotel for. I know it varies by location and visa type but how long would you book for?

I am basically asking all of you who have successfully gone through the interview process how long it took after the interview to get the visa in hand. The hotel we are staying at does not refund for nights not used. I want to pay online before the trip to avoid international fees paid by booking there.

I knowwwww there is no set answer to my question, just asking for some experiences with this.

AP/EAD Approved: April 29, 2013 | Card Received: May 6, 2013 | AOS Interview Appt.: May 16, 2013 - Approved Review Card Received: May 24, 2013

I think on average, 3 to 5 days. It could be longer, as you know, so just be prepared to extend your stay if you need to. Read the reviews. Sometimes people post how long it took to get the visa.

From 2 days to a week. The hotel might not refund you, but you can usually just extend your stay.

Our Journey begins

Met online in March 2009. Started dating through Skype in September 2009. Met in person on 03/14/2010. After many visits, both ways, Nate proposes to Liz on 8/10/2010.

K1 Visa processed at Vermont, approved in 106 days. Approved at CDJ on 19/09/2011
Our AOS Journey from K1

Applied for AOS on 12/27/2011

-AP/EAD combo card processed at Vermont, approved in 86 days. Approved on 3/22/2012; Card Received 3/30/2012

-GC processed at Vermont, approved in 268 days. Approved on 9/20/2012; Card Received on 9/26/2012
Our RoC Journey

08/30/2014: Sent package to Lockbox

09/02/2014: Package Received in Chicago

09/05/2014: Received NOA1 (Extension letter for 1 year)

11/30/2014: Called USCIS, Biometrics appointment not received yet. Appointment letter never delivered to correct address.

12/05/2014: Finally receive Biometrics appointment letter in the mail.

12/30/2014: Biometrics taken in El Paso, Texas ASC

05/08/2015: Approval notice received by email and text

05/10/2015: Approval notice received by mail

05/15/2015: GC in hand

hey, i just came back from juarez, she got her visa 2 business days after the interview. stayed at the ibis hotel, it has security and is reasonable and comfortable.

Great!!!! I am so glad I only booked it for 3 days past the interview!!! I actually book the Ibis so I am glad you recommend it!!!
