Hi we likely have the same case. We also received an RFE to prove that we met in the last 2 years. we also dont have enough proof since my fiance (the petitioner) stayed here in the Philippines for a long time and studied college here in which he graduated 2 years ago. We also dont have receipts in hotels or whatsoever and was also not able to keep our airline tickets, boat tickets since we didnt know before that we'll be able to use this. We did provide some hotel receipts but that was just 2 receipts that we had kept. and others are payments we made for a house we purchased here in the Philippines (for business purposes) and both receipts are under our name which was in track since 2008-present. we also gave them photocopies of his passport and receipts he had when he was still here in the philippines. My fiance's Filipino by blood but was born in US which made him a citizen.. his whole family is here and they have a house here as well.. that's why our proof like itineraries/tickets are not enough, we just had them during our vacations or out-of-town travel.. and most are already gone. but we did save a few. you could provide evidence for the past 2years before you filed since that's what they really need. hope you'll be able to gather enough evidence. You do not have to change your plans and go the spousal visa route instead. Your fiance simply needs to withdraw the petition, visit you, then file a new I-129F petition using the current visit as your proof of meeting in the last 2 years prior to filing.

It does not matter how long you have known each other for the I-129F petition. One of the main requirements is having met in person, face-to-face within the 2 years prior to filing. quote]

It doesn't matter what else has happened prior to your petition at this point - you need to have met within the 2 years prior to petitioning.

Mar 2011 - After 5mths denied for lost docs - Attempts to follow up failed. Mar 18 2012 - I-129F sent - No sign of NOA1 but they have banked the check...Jul 24 - Update - USCIS has located our file
Infopass Apt - they sorted through everything - our 2011 and 2012 file keep getting mixed up - getting us a Case# (still waiting) Dec- Infopass Appt- expecting to get a case # in about a week ..Still no Case number
Mar 2013 Infopass - advised file was in a box somewhere,and it would be quicker for us to refile. Life gets in the way... New petition submitted July 2014 .
