Well called today and they still have not received my case from USCIS. Don't they typically receive it first and then it takes a few days to assign a case number? Will my case number be further delayed since they still haven't received it yet?

MCMLXXXII and Neela & Jitu, ur both muslim?! cool!!! me too!!! :)

In the Cairo threads, in most cases, where we've kept track of AP times and genders, the women were approved within 2 weeks of interview and males (for the most part) were around 2 months, sometimes longer, but most often not much shorter... just saying... i hope for no AP for u Neela or for MCM's wife, but if there is, i hope its really short...

InshaAllah I hope we all avoid AP and even if we are placed in AP I hope it is short.

That's interesting that for women it's a considerably shorter wait... I wonder if this would apply to Canada too for background checks for beneficiaries from Middle Eastern countries...

This is just such a blatant discrimination, I don't see how it can be justified at all. Everyone just complains about the length and the process but the overall discrimination against muslims doesn't really matter. What kind of society is this?

Another trend I have noticed is that Middle Eastern Countries might be more selective in handing out APs to females as they send a lot of cases to AP but in other countries, people of muslim origin get placed in AP nearly all the time. I have seen cases of people in the UK and in Canada being placed in AP, some who were even born in the country and only had parents from a muslim country.

yea... for ur reference and for the others, here is the latest list compiled by togetherforever13 for the Cairo thread showing gender, interview date, what they were told regarding the visa/AP wait post interview, and how many days it actually took before visa in hand...

i forgot this wasn't FB, i was looking to tag MCM and Neela :P

15.A & Y (meno-is-mine)9/22/11-------------------NOA2 3/13/12

It looks like most of these were for missing papers or needing more information so if everything is well prepared there shouldn't be an issue. However in countries where AP is rare, when they do place people in AP it is usually a long duration. There was a Pakistani lady from Canada who was in AP for 70 days I think in February , her name was with an F but I don't remember exactly. Yesterday another Pakistani woman in Canada was placed in AP. I am following that one closely. I think the cahnces would have been better in a muslim country than in a place like Canada.

Hi! We just got approved yesterday. How do we start getting things ready for NVC? We want to start soon so we do not have it pile up on us the last minute.

So glad to see you here. It certainly took you a long time. I hope it is quick from now onwards!

Saylin my dear,

Its paid Yahooooo!im going to email the Iv package. [...]

According to my spreadsheet, you're about one week behind those currently getting case numbers assigned. I'm sure your case is in the mailroom, just sitting there waiting to be inputted.

And yes, the discrimination is ridiculous for this process. But unfortunately, I don't think anything is going to chance anytime soon. If anything, it'll probably get worse.

Saylin update ur Spreadesheet as i emailed IV package. Now im doing DS260 form. :)

Updated!

Saylin another good news is on DS 260 form Goole Translator works.

Not only does the embassy over here seem to cut down on the visa departement, they also cut down on the dep that handle us citizens issues to... :(

I've been looking over the millinon different documents that I will need when my baby is born later on this month to make her a both a swedish and an american citizen. And when she is born she has to travel up to the embassy and file all the papers there the good thing though is that you can book your appointements for that online... Then I started, just for fun, to look over available dates later on in april and may and there were none! There was one available date left in june so i booked it. Thing is though I had to fill in her date of birth.. but I filled in the expected due date for now. I'm gonna give the embassy a call 2mrw and tell them what I did, hopefully they'll let me keep that appointement and just let me adjust the baby's info once she has arrived.. If this also is gonna give me issues I'm just gonna lay down and cry for a week...

Sorry for going ot but i just had to get it out of my system..
