Shell (and for anyone else that cares :P ), some (non-NVC) progress has been made! kicking.gif

Finally got 1 (of 3) Java assignments finally submitted! Plus, I got 3 assignments completed in another class, as well as 2 assignments in another class (one of which was giving me problems yesterday). I was on a roll today! *very happy*

And now, to go home and have dinner out with my husband! Pasta bar tonight :D :D

I think I have just seen a very weird case here ... My Friend (Another VJ Member received NOA2 dated March 19th, 2012) for her CR-1 Visa application. As of today, NVC still says that THERE IS NO RECORD of them haven't received her case from USCIS California Service Center ... Has anyone ever seen anything like this?? More than a month for a case to make it from Cali to NVC? :blink:

same thing is happening to MCMLXXXII, poor guy... i believe the last he heard after many attempts to find out what was going on was that USCIS still had the file after so long and that it'd go out to NVC whenever it happens, something like this... crazy!!!

Just curious, anyone who just recently received a bill get the money taken out their account yet or see a 'paid' status on the portal? I'm just waiting to send out my packet which i sealed today finally... cant wait to be done with this!!! i want a case complete!!! lol

Mine wasn't 'recent' not since the change, the AOS bill was withdrawn and showed PAID in 24 hours. The IV bill was withdrawn the next day, but took three more days to show PAID. Which was annoying!

Nope no0pb.gif The AOS and IV are two, completely different tracks. One does not affect the other. The IV is only invoiced after Choice of Agent acceptance. Have you submitted the DS-261 online yet?

IV will be invoiced once they accept the DS-261.

Mine was never accepted, I ended up doing the template for the DS-3032. That was accepted the next day, two days later I had the IV invoice.

If you do NOT call an operator at NVC, then, when a case number is assigned, they'll generate a package and send it to you. If they have an email address on file, they'll email it to you, otherwise it will be snail mail and can take awhile to receive. That's why I recommend to call. Lately, it's been taking NVC 3-4 weeks to assign a case number, so you probably won't get yours till early May.

Unless your case is not "normal" (ex: past criminal charges, overstay), I'd suggest dropping your lawyer as this process is completely feasible doing it on one's own, and is usually better as lawyers mess up because they're not up to date on processes, or they're slow at getting or sending information, etc.

She plans on doing Electronic Processing since it is through Mexico and she said my previous lawyer and/or myself will probably get the email from the NVC. I would do this process by myself if I did not need a waiver for my husband, but since we do need one I would rather have a lawyer preparing one, especially one that works specifically with waivers! Maybe I will ask my lawyer if she can call them though or if I can call them to ask or at least give them my email..

I completed it online and when I sign on to the portal there is a big green checkmark beside it and it says completed.

It should be invoiced soon. There has been a holdup at NVC due to the fee decrease on the 13th, so invoices are taking much longer than normal. Just sit tight.

She plans on doing Electronic Processing since it is through Mexico and she said my previous lawyer and/or myself will probably get the email from the NVC. Ahh, if you need a waiver, then yeah, it might be a good idea to keep your lawyer.

But see if you can at least make calls. This would help immensely!

I called the NVC today for a case number, but nothing :unsure: again, even after 16 business days. They told me to send them an email regarding this situation. What do you all think might be going on with this delay? Should I be worried, such as our files getting lost?

No, NVC is going through a backlog where it's taking 4+ weeks to get a case number. NVC is currently assigning case numbers with NOA2 dates in late March.
