Have him fix the blanks of the I-864 to show his TOTAL income for three previous tax years. (this can be a big difference from adjusted gross! Mine was in the thousands)

so can he just fill in a new page 4 and scan it and email it to me, how much do they scrutanize our pdfs? will they notice that one page was scanned differently? or am I going to have to wait for snail mail?

and thanks for catching that by the way, we did his after helping his mom fill in hers and she filed with 1040ez

Just re-do page 4, scan and email. They don't care, it's all electronic for us anyway. You'll hand in the originals at the interview. Or to save time, fill page 4 out yourself and then combine it with the .pdf file you already have.

It's easy to do with this--> PDFescape and This --> Foxy Utils both are free and easy to use. Just upload the .pdf documents you want to Foxy, combine them, save and dowload. Then upload them to pdfescape and you can move them around in whatever order you need.

My sister is our joint sponsor and she emailed me her tax documents, I filled out the I-864 for her and the A for her husband and all she did was mail me the very last pages with their signatures. I combined it all into one .PDF, emailed it all and NVC had no clue :P

Then I printed the whole package out and put the original signature pages with their forms.

I doubt they test the ink to see if it all came from the same printer.

called NVC again just now... Paige (or was it Sage?) said that the bills are being sent out in batches and that she "could see" that it seems i'm up for a bill soon (don't know what that means?!?!) and that i should receive the bill in an email soon and then it should post within 24 hours of that... i told her i already received an email... she said "what email did u receive?" i told her an email with a bill for $230 on the 20th (friday @ 1:20am), she said, "ok, well, that was just friday so just wait another 24 hours and see, u just have to wait..."

Hang in there everyone... i don't know what's up with NVC but they must be swamped... compassionate, understanding, and patient me keeps saying that it'll happen when its supposed to happen... but the proactive, OCD, antsy part of me feels i shouldnt just sit back and wait (hence the call at 10:30 pm) :P hmm, wonder which part will take over tomorrow LOL

Update,

Spoke to Max from NVC and he was one of the friendliest that I have spoken to the entire month+ that I have been at NVC. He informed me that they did receive my AOS and that it was ok. I asked him what about my DS230? I informed him that it was sent together with my AOS in the same envelope. He told me that since it's a different department that it probably is right behind the AOS and that it should be done soon. Told me at first to give them 20 days max but he recommended that I should really call tomorrow and Wednesday if I do not mind the hold time . I asked him if I get any emails for case completes, etc and he said tomorrow I will get one for the DS230 checklist and that I should ignore it since I already sent mine in. Hopefully tomorrow the DS230 will be complete as well, and I am definitely calling

I've noticed in the 1 1/2 months I've had to call NVC daily that the representatives seem a little more exasperated than usual, and the call volume has increased a stupid amount since last week. I'd never gotten a busy signal with them EVER until today.

I do feel sorry for them. The representatives at NVC are just poor contracted schmucks and the actual NVC is the one with the issues. The poor people can't help the actual government doesn't have a too hot IT department, that can't smoothly change over a simple price change. (I mean c'mon, Wal-Mart has no problems!)

It seems it threw a wrench in to the whole works and all the computer systems seemed to have glitched. (Remember when they couldn't bring up files at all?) I'm wondering if their little glitch also effected their ability to schedule interviews and that's why they kind of came to a stand still after Friday the 13th.

The good thing about a false checklist, at least you know your case was touched in some way or form.

You won't get a case complete email only EP cases do. You'll have to call them after the IV packet is accepted and see if it's complete.

Is the irony of the situation - that this glitch started in relation to a change that was to be implemented on Friday the 13th - noticed by anyone else?

Removal of Conditions submitted March 24, 2014, received March 26, 2014

I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this piece of info, but I know Saylin will see it here, and it's about passport photos which are part of the NVC stage, so... :)

We just did our POE today, and the CBP officer wasn't happy that there was stuff on the back of my husband's passport photos. There was some kind of stamp on it from the pharmacy where he had them taken, and the officer claimed he needed to write things on the back so he was considering making us leave the screening area to find another pharmacy and get new ones. He didn't actually make us, but I guess making sure to have mostly blank space on the back of your photos is a good idea as a precaution.

Interesting... I don't remember seeing the border officers doing anything with my passport photos... But, I took them myself, so there was no stamp on the back, just my name, dob, and case number, so there was plenty of room. Wonder what they had to write on the back of your photos...

expect about 2 weeks to get your case number. This is based on my experience and reading vj forums.
