My I-129F application has been stuck in "initial review" at CSC for nearly 6 months with no touches or RFE. My congressman has finally agreed to do an inquiry on my behalf. Does anyone have experience with this process? Does it help at all?

9/19/11 - sent I-129F

9/21/11 - email NOA1

9/27/11 - hard copy NOA1

3/20/12 - congressional inquiry (6 months since NOA1)

4/4/12 - inquiry result: petition approved (still no NOA2 text/email/letter)

4/20/12 - packet 3 received from embassy

I had a similar case. I was stuck for over 6 months total. 3 months after sending RFE back to USCIS. I contacted my congressman who did an inquiry on my behalf on a friday. I received and email from VSC about the congressman inquiry the same day and i was approved the following monday. So it helped in my case. My suggestion would be to contact their office since it cant hurt and might even help. Good luck to you.

OK, they contacted a "congressional liaison" so I guess it's out of my hands now.

I am very jealous of all the October filers that are already approved. Going nuts here.

I did the same thing today. Contacted my Senator asking for some help and also made a service request.... Hopefully it works. Been waiting over 5 months with no response at all.

They wouldn't even do anything until I got to the 6 month mark. Hopefully your representative is more responsive than mine.

I understand what Andy was saying. My fiance and I are on our fifth month and I think we should be hearing from the CSC office sometime soon, but nothing yet. We got our NOA1 in the beginning of November. Just wondering, what congressman from California should I contact? and what is the RFE?

Thanks

According to the timelines, CSC is still currently processing October. I look at them everyday as I am a Nov. NOA1 and the waiting is becoming unbearable!!!

Google it to find out which Congressman services the area that you LIVE in.

An RFE is a Request For Evidence. This is sent to you by the USCIS if the want more proof of you having a genuine relationship/you forgot to sign a form.

If everything is ok with your application you will not get one.

If the need more stuff from you, they will sen you an RFE.

Still no touches or acknowledgement of the inquiry. Called USCIS and they FINALLY admitted that this was outside normal processing times. Gee!!! Ya think???? Complained and complained until I spoke with a higher-up and he said he'd do a service request. Feeling like maybe if I keep bitching and moaning I might eventually get to move on to the next step like everyone else.
