Age is a big red flag for Casa, but the family not knowing....that is a different story. Why would you get engaged to a woman and not tell your family? She didn't meet any of your family on your trip? Yes Jackie, the whole family could be in on the scam, but the family not knowing about her at all  that is a HUGE red flag. I would do some extensive searching on this web site about Casa, and other couples going through Casa. How long have you known her? How soon after you met did she fly to see you? Where did you meet? Is she divorced? Does she have kids? This next statement is just my opinion....I know some older woman like younger men. I could see myself dating a 30 year old if I was 40 or 45. I am only 30 now, and would never date a 20 year old boy, because in my experience, 20 year old don't know what they want in life for the long term. Just my honest opinion

If you are serious about your fiance, please take this advice. Take it SLOW! I know you don't want to hear that, but it's the best. Get a few visits in before applying. and TELL YOUR FAMILY! You can overcome the age difference, if you play your cards right. Immigration will teach you patience. There is no quick way around it. Nobody wants to wait long to be with their loved ones, but we all have to wait, and wait....

I suppose we wish everyone the best in their journey but I have to agree the age difference is a red flag all on its own but making a visit and not informing the family is a big one. Planning a marriage and they still do not know those are way bigger red flags with the embassey. So you go to the interview and say "yes she visited but she did not meet or stay with the family," don't see that going over well with a CO especially because of the age difference. I can say with a great deal of certainty that the members here are all willing to assist but perhaps it is time to set the record straight with family for the sake of your relationship now and in the future. In our case the CO approved the visa despite the age difference but we set up the foundation of our relationship, we thought things through and included all the important things in life in the mix (family, friends, visits, joint accounts, joint mortgage, insurance).

Good luck,

What would a 40 year old woman be doing with a 20 year old that by American standards isn't allowed to legally drink is what the CO will be thinking. She may also be experiencing 'empty nest' syndrome. At 20 I didn't even want to be bothered with the intricacies of a boyfriend/girlfriend relationship much less be married.

Anyway he's got a long way to go in terms of developing a relationship with his lady, telling his family about his current situation (& handling possible backlash from his choices) and then finally convincing the CO that this is a forever kinda relationship/marriage.

The family not knowing about the relationship will most likely be a deal-breaker for the CO.......no way could they beleive it's a valid relationship. The age difference could be overlooked if everything else is very beleivable, but a huge age difference AND the family not knowing......I wouldn't waste my time & money applying. Just my opinion...

Different religions as well? If so, does she/ do you intend to convert? If no, and you hope for kids, what religion will they be brought up in?

One thing that will almost certainly be asked at interview is about kids- does she want some, do you want some, what if she is too old?

You don't need to answer here, but be sure to have an answer for the CO at interview.

As others have mentioned, a few more visits and photos with eachother's families, especially yours, would help too.

More researches on VJ you mean?

No, I mean you should troll back into the internet cafe where you've been searching for and American woman to get you out of Morocco & look for another one because you are not going to get approved with a 17 year age difference and your family not knowing, and having only spent ten days together. WHY is it you want to marry this 37 year old, but your family does not know about her? That's not really the tradition in Morocco, is it?

Better yet, if you really want help - you should tell your fiance to sign up for Visa Journey - we'll help her.

Also, just an FYI - the US consulate in Casa does extensive research into the email/internet usage of petitioners. Hopefully, in your case they do - so even if you go on to meet a visa ticket, I mean American woman, you feel comfortable telling your family about in the future, they will know you've already tried fooling a 37 year old into marrying you. Lots of luck to you!

The Age difference is not a problem, and shouldn't lead to a disapproval for visa. I don't know what your culture feels about it, But religiously, age difference really doesn't stop marriage as some of the prophets married women older that them. The only problem u will have is by not letting ur family know, as that is not fair to your fiance.

So my advice is, go ahead and tell ur family. Don't be afraid they wouldn't accept her, but for the fact that u tell them makes a difference.

I'm 37 and the thought of having to deal with a 20 yr old mate makes me kinda sick. I had a hard enough time with the almost 30 yr old (at the time of marriage; married 6 yrs) husband trying to help him adjust. I can't imagine having to wipe a 20 yr old's #### at my age.

Do you know much about the US Consulate in Casablanca?

Yea, I was just thinking people shouldn't be giving advice if they don't know what they are talking about. The prophet being married to an older woman has nothing to do with visa fraud in Morocco. Some countries, age isn't a red flag. In Morocco, older women marrying young Moroccan men is a big red flag. Why?? First it is not the social norm, second, most young men in their culture want children, yet they marry women past child bearing age. I am in no way saying they are all doomed to fail, but the ones that work are the exception, NOT the norm.

Also, after what you asked me, I'm pretty positive something isn't right in your relationship. But if your woman, who sounds like she's on the rebound from JUST being divorced, is willing to believe what you say, then so be iit. But what she believes will have no effect on what the consulate will see, and what they think YOUR intentions are.
