Good day! I'm hoping to get clarifications regarding CFO Certificate and Sticker as we are heading to the states soon.

1. Is 13 y/o girl needs to attend a CFO Seminar ?

2. If yes, can she attend with me on same room or venue as K1 and K2 visa holder?

3. Can we make reservation seats ahead by calling the CFO office ?

4. For those who have experienced attending, which CFO office do you recommend ? I heard of PRISM and St. Mary?

5. Which is nearer or convenient to go if we come from TAFT EDSA (Kabayan Hotel) or perhaps PAL Terminal II ?

6. Can we get the CFO Certificate and sticker right immediately after the seminar ?

I need to determine these things since we already have our plane tickets on hand. Since we are coming from the province, we have only like 2 days stay in Manila from the time we arrive and schedule to depart to the US. I'm wondering if we could make it (certificate & sticker on hand) before our departure to the US. I would appreciate receiving any replies to my queries. Thank you very much for all the inputs.

1. Yes she does need to attend a counseling session -- "The Peer Counseling Seminar is a special session for those with ages 13 to 19 years, which aims to prepare them emotionally for the adjustments they will have to take."

2. See #1

3. CFO is on a first come, first served basis.

4. PRISM is the most recommended.

5. PRISM would be the nearest.

6. You get the CFO sticker when you have the visa -- if you attend the counseling prior to your interview or before you have the passport/visa in your hands, you will have to return to CFO with your certificate to get the sticker placed in the passport.

Two days is more than enough time to complete the CFO requirement, I assume since you have your plane tickets already, therefore, you have the visas. In that case, you will get the CFO stickers after you complete the counseling session.

OP, in your case, since you have no time to waste -- make sure you have all of the documents required to attend the counseling sessions before you leave your province. You have no room for error with two before you fly. No CFO stickers = no departure.

Good luck!

My 17 year old and I went to PRISM in front of LaSalle, and were told to go to their building in Quirino Ave. They said that the Peer Counselling Sessions were done there. This was July 2011. I suggest you inquire first before coming to PRISM, so as not to waste your time. I'm not sure how they do it now.

Just go to the prism directly because it is where they conducted the seminar/counseling.

Make sure you have everything with you so you won't waste time.

The first time i went there my docs was incomplete so they gave me a list of docs they required before i can get my certificate though i'm already done with the counseling.

I attended the CFO after my interview and geez it was more than attending the Embassy interview

Lots of questions about me and my guy etc..but i was approved still.

Goodluck!

The one in PRISM is for K1. The one for minors is in a different area. Im sure because I just called them up, and it's in the area of Quirino corner South Superhighway. I have a 16 year old for USEM interview in April.

Hi I would suggest do it as soon as possible before u run out of time. I had mine 2 days before my flight and I was like freaking out coz I had to go back the following day for additional requirements. And I thought I can't make it. I was done for the sticker around 3pm and my flight for Manila is 6pm today. :o Tomorrow is my international flight. :)
