Biometrics for N400

Is it possible that they would use your biometrics from your last visit (i.e I-751) - I got mine done in April 2011.

OR do they still mail you for a biometrics appointment for your N-400.

Is there anyone on this forum who has gone straight from submitting their N-400 application to having an interview because they (USCIS) will be using your previous biometrics?

You would not have biometrics if you already had it taken within the last year.

Your I-129f was approved in 5 days from your NOA1 date.

Your interview took 67 days from your I-129F NOA1 date.

AOS was approved in 2 months and 8 days without interview.

ROC was approved in 3 months and 2 days without interview.

I am a Citizen of the United States of America. 04/16/13

It happens that way but not always. We did biometrics again.

I don't have to do it. Placed a service request last week(NOA date 1/20) and received this email yesterday from USCIS:

After checking our systems the biometrics taken on 02/25/2011 are still valid and you will not be scheduled again. We are sorry for any misunderstanding and thank you for informing USCIS of this matter.

I went straight to interview without biometrics, but after my interview was done, the USCIS officer told me that my biometrics will be expired before the oath ceremony, so he scheduled me for a biometrics.

The thing I would like to know is, we paid $680.00 which included biometrics! If some of us don't get called for bio as we did it last year, do we get the bio fee back!? I doubt it, but we should!!

No, you shouldn't. This fee is not only for rolling your fingers, it is also for conducting background check. So hey, think positive! Since they used your previous fingerprint impressions for your N400 background check, they just let you save a trip to a ASC office

Hi Pepper,

I was wondering how you place the service request to USCIS. My last biometrics was 06/21/2011 but i got an email notification today that a biometrics letter is going to be sent to me. I understand the biometrics fee will not be reimbursed but it is helpful enough to save a trip to the ASC. It is hard to leave my infant daughter for any period of time to have that done. She's going through separation anxiety. :(
