birth certificate or passport from fiance?

Does my fiance need to send me a copy of his birth certificate or passport for the I-129F packet? In French or Arabic if YES, does it have to be translated and notarized? Since we met online, long distance, I was considering my family and his immediate family type up a letter, signed, notarized that they are witness to our bonafide relationship since 2007, they approve and support the relationship. Not sure if that would be additional supporting documents that I can add to packet or good idea...??? But it's legit in supporting that our families are aware of the relationship we have and are engaged for all the right reasons. Now his parents(immediate) would be writing this in Arabic, so I'm sure they would have to sign, notarize both the original and translation of that letter...? Any advice? Am I over thinking things? helpsmilie.gif I look at the guide but I only see where he has to do the letter of intent, the passport pics, and the form G325A... I was surprised no other documents like BC or PP would be needed. Or did I skip something... wacko.gif I have all the emails (skype, facebook, msn, etc.), photos, engagement ring receipt, airplane tickets, and proof of him sending me money & I to him will that help to...? no call records which sucks (prepaid plans (pre-paid cards) no record history for MetroPCS crying.gif but my family and his are witness to how much we communicate by phone and computer biggrin.gif (that could be in the letter...!?)

Also, I'm considering a lawyer only because I've read so many things about Moroccan Nationals having such a hard time with the visas-that it worries me about how strict and picky they are... I would feel a whole lot better knowing that someone that truly knows the process is guiding us through. Not sure what to do there; if it's even necessary. The Money is killer, I assume. blush.gif I'm trying to look around my local area for immigration lawyers. Sorry if I ask too many questions, but asking questions gets you far! smile.gif

Thanks in advance for the help.

LETTERS BETTER HAND WRITTEN OR TYPED!?

For beneficiary at this time NO you do not need their passport or BC. Letter Of Intent can be typed but must be original signature.

Biggest thing you need to provide is evidence of having met within the past 2 years. With some embassies I have read that "front loading" the I-129F with evidence of ongoing relationship will help also.

Don't know that I would bother with a Lawyer as this is just a couple forms and lots of evidence only you possess. Ask on your country specific forum.

I agree with Hank. The only thing a lawyer is going to do is give you a questionnaire to fill out asking for all of the information they'll need to prepare the forms, and then hand your questionnaire to a secretary or paralegal to transcribe your information to the forms. If you don't carefully proofread the forms before they send them then there's a very good chance the forms will contain mistakes. They won't notice if they get your birthday or address wrong, but if you were filling out the forms it would stick out to you like a sore thumb. I've also heard of lawyers asking for ridiculous documents that aren't required, and NOT asking for essential supporting evidence that IS required.

Before you start stuffing all of those affidavits into your petition package, why don't you spend some time in the MENA forum and see what other people have frontloaded with their petitions and have been successful. When it comes to credible evidence, sworn affidavits from family members tend to go at the bottom of the list. USCIS doesn't need those affidavits to approve your petition, so they're not even going to look at them. A consular officer would have no problem believing that your family would happily lie on your behalf.

LETTERS BETTER HAND WRITTEN OR TYPED!?

Letters can be hand written or typed. "Legible" is the standard to meet. You do not need a BC or passport for the beenficiary for the petition.

Stop considering a lawyer. You found VJ. Many here truly know the process.
