oh foobaz, what can we do to cheer you up? I know that this is a process where the outcome is not assured for you but we need to get you in a positive upswing as it has been successful for others and that is how you must start thinking. Praying to the email might work too.

It doesn't have to be Gambia to mean problem... I have no idea where I could get my passport certified in France, I don't think such a thing is even possible (a law was passed about 10 years ago stating that demanding certified copies of a document was now prohibited and that regular copies were valid. Even before that, the certification of a document containing a photo was impossible).

No refund for us anyway since it's all foreign income being excluded so it was really not worth the pain!

Not necessarily, Principal Applicant is how NVC refers to the foreign spouse even when there's no dependant. It's their own way of saying "beneficiary".

Wouldn't that make creating your own copies of whatever you want saying whatever you want pretty easy?

I get to be 'negative' and worry here so that I am positive and 'everything will be fine, no problems!' to the wife....

While admitting that I am biased, if GUZ actually reads at our evidence (presuming USCIS didn't drop it on the floor) we really ought to be fine. Lord knows I sent them enough. On the other hand, it is always my worry that they won't bother to really read it (and merely glance at it) or that USCIS just dropped it on the floor and GUZ doesn't even get it. Since GUZ is famous for refusing all evidence at the interview it would mean we'd have nothing but the basic forms, the pictures they'll ask for, and my passport showing a lot of trips as evidence. Needless to say, at GUZ that would be a disaster and would practically guarantee a denial. Sue will have a full copy of all the evidence sent in at the start just in case, though it isn't likely they would accept it if it didn't come from NVC in the first place.

So, I'm filling out the I864 and I haven't been working due to changes in school schedules, but a friend is helping me joint sponsor my wife.

she makes 25k a year, and she is married, her husband also makes about 23k per year; meaning they both make about 48k all together.

does my friend need an I864 and her husband an I864A; and would this be enough $$ to sponsor my wife

(I'm still a little confused because I don't know if USCIS takes into consideration only my friend's income or her spouse's as well. by they way, they filed taxes together)

As I understand it, it would be the combined income of your sponsors. In answer to your second question, what is the poverty level for a household of 3 (wife+sponsor one+sponsor two)?

Well, the magic bit is 125% over the poverty line. Over by a dollar is still over. That said, I cannot think of any reason why if both an I-864 and an I-864A were used they would only take one income. It wouldn't make any sense, no?
