Assuming you mean starting new threads to announce approvals rather than/in addition to just posting in a larger existing thread: I still hate them...

Yep exactly those. The ones titled like "OMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!! APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ONLY 2 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!"

Oh, I agree, Pizza Hut is better than Sbarro's. But I only have Sbarro's when I'm at the Minneapolis airport, so I look forward to it each time!

And yes, the atmosphere in here is definitely awesome, so full of happiness (with a sprinkle of impatience). I've said this earlier, but when someone here progresses (sending in a package, paying a bill, getting a case number, getting a case complete, etc), EVERYONE is happy!

*big group hug of all my immigration babies* luv.gif

i flew through Minneapolis Airport during a conference for work... nice city...

and yay for the group hug... my Mom's been calling me 'immigration girl' since I started this process. This morning i told her about the immigration mama and immigration babies part and she said, and i quote, "you're all obsessed, its so sad..." LMAO

I am absolutely not mad at you. Just joking around. Hey those reassurances really did help a lot back when I was waiting. Frankly I don't have the heart to go back and tell those poor folks to be patient. But I won't be some of those others who gloat by creating new posts filles with YAY!s and smileys just looking for everyone to congratulate them. I hated those when I was waiting. Especially those which said NOA2 in only 2 Months! I wish there was an emoticon which would deliver a punch through the screen.

Now those ppl I couldn't stand... anyone that didn't do their time (at least 5 months) well, lets just say, I was looking for the same emoticon... HAHAHA

Yeah, when I see people doing things like that, I think... aren't there some close friends and family members you should be calling right now, instead of asking for approval from strangers who are too jealous to care?

Well we're not all too jealous to care, but given that a lot of us waited over 6 months, it's hard to be happy for those people :)

 Guilty. But I didn't do it that dramatically... But I did start my own thread.. it had been forever, I was excited!

The people that mentioned their 'encouragement' of "oh we only had to wait (30 days, 40 days 4 months, 5 months) I know yours is taking so long..." in every thread about waiting that annoyed me. 'goway fool, you're not even a June filer!'

The first person I told, after hubby of course, was Shell!!

You're probably right. Some people seem to get an unusual amount of kicks by making others miserable. ..

Hey now, I kind of think you of all people were entitled to a little more than normal excitement! After what your case went through, come on now...lol :) I was almost more excited for YOU than for me! :D

I think our NOA2s came within minutes of each other too...how cool was that?! :)

oh honey, for the most part it takes 5-6 months, took me 6, i got my NAO1 in August and my NAO2 in February. I would check similar timelines( IE country and office location)but that also doesn't help as everyone is different, i've seen others get their NOA2 in 2 months and others in 9, so the average is 5 (what it says on the website of USCIS)

One thing I noticed, a lot of people post NVC related questions outside of this thread. Should they be coming here and asking or should they stay where they are? My question being is it better to create new threads when you have a question? I find coming here and asking a question to be much better answered.

Hi Friends,

NVC received my case on 03/13/2012, case# assigned on 03/20/2012, called NVC & got invoice# on 03/23/2012, online status shows NOT INVOICED, how many days it will take to get INVOICED my case?

That's kind of a toss up, it seems there's no set time frame. Some get it right away, some take a few days.

I'm still waiting and I got my case number on the 21st.

Oh yes. It TOTALLY does. It does a bang-up job too!

Wow, that's impressive! Bookmarking that URL in case I need to share it with anyone here!

Alright I am going to switch around the order of things and keep the 2011 W2 with the 2011 return. I will put in the case numbers on every page also, It seems like there will be a lot of waiting and it gives me something to do.

Thanks for everyone's help!

You definitely have the time!

Saylin:

Two things about your package:

-For the sponsor's tax return, are you including both their W2s (of each spouse)? If not, do that, so each of their incomes can be known, if necessary.

Yes, both W2s/1099misc and schedules for every one are in there. Spouse is self-employed, so no employment letter for him. They did not claim any assets, because they make a gazillion dollars over poverty level, so nothing to include in there :)

I'm a bum going to college full time. My income is from hubby in Canada, so it doesn't count. I did include 2011 transcript because I did work last year. We could have used assets, but it was rather a large pain to have the house appraised, get statements from the banks in Canada etc.

-I'm not sure if it's required, but I'd also include your joint sponsor's marriage certificate, to show they're married to their spouse. It might not be necessary, but if it's possible, I'd suggest including it. I've seen ridiculous checklists when it comes to joint sponsors and proving relationships and such.

At first I though "The taxes are a joint return, with their children listed as dependents.." Then I came to my senses and realized this is the US government we're dealing with. I've already asked for her to e-mail the marriage certificate to me. Way ahead of you on that one!

And a question: are you related to the joint sponsors at all? Are you living with them (or vice versa)?

Yes, we are related, no we do not even live remotely close to each other and haven't for 22 years. If so it would cause much grief and phone calls to our parents for bail money....

From what I understood I wouldn't need to prove how we are related unless we lived in the same household. My Birth Certificate should already be in the petition file, but again.. this is a bureaucracy.. I should include it.

[...]

(L):luv:

Okay, just wanted to make sure you had the W2s! And if they're over the income line, then assets aren't needed at all. Complicates things too as you need to include bank statements and such. And the employment letter is optional, so that's fine too.

And yeah, you never know with these government people. Even though they're living together with kids, they still want to see a marriage certificate sometimes headbonk.gif

And okay, if you don't live together, then you probably won't need to prove the relationship. It's usually where the petitioner is living with their parents, they need to include their birth certificate to show their parents' names on it. And it doesn't matter if USCIS has theirs already and sent it to NVC. NVC still requests it sometimes headbonk.gif But, that's not your case, so no worries!

Yep exactly those. The ones titled like "OMMMMMMMMMMMMGGGGGGG!!!!!!!!! APPROVED!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! ONLY 2 MONTHS!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! YAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYYY!!!!!!!"

Ohhh, I hated those when I was waiting mad.gif and I still hate them now because it makes other people sad and wondering where their approvals are. Just keep it in the monthly USCIS threads people headbonk.gif And even then, don't go overboard >_<

i flew through Minneapolis Airport during a conference for work... nice city...

and yay for the group hug... my Mom's been calling me 'immigration girl' since I started this process. This morning i told her about the immigration mama and immigration babies part and she said, and i quote, "you're all obsessed, its so sad..." LMAO

[...]

I am so grateful I am home (instead of class). I literally laughed out loud at that one! Me: laughing.giflaughing.giflaughing.gif

Everyone needs a good laugh though during this process :D

Hi All - Can anyone tell me roughly how long it takes to get NOA2? I receieved NOA1 over 1 month ago. I'M a USC sponsoring my husband. This is nerve wrecking... I see some people received theirs in a Month or two then others 5 months (praying this is not the case).

Roughly, it's 5 months. There are a few outliers who get it quickly. And those petitioners living overseas with their spouse have their cases join an "Express" lane, where they get approvals within a few days/weeks. You're looking at about another 4 months. If you get it sooner, be grateful. I waited 5 days shy of 5 months for our I-130 approval.

Hi Friends,
