Happy Monday lovely March NVC thread-ers!! Suddenly loving the start of the work week.

So quick question--I keep reading that the AOS is invoiced separately from IV, but mine were invoiced together. Is it because I'm using a lawyer?

And thanks to everyone (especially Saylin) for your help so far!

lol ya, my tax returns are like 26 pages long being self-employed. Much easier to scan in the 6 page transcript! If they cashed your check, it shouldn't be too much longer. I could get my transcript a full day after I received my refund direct deposit. It did take forever for them to process my return. I sent it on Feb 2 e-file, and it wasn't processed until March 13!

Wow, that IS a long time! blink.gif Isn't e-filing only supposed to take a week or so? That's about as long as our paper return took to process...

Yup, that's exactly why. Here's the reason: with the I-130 petition, a G-28 is sent. The G-28 is a lawyer form saying they'll be the agent for this case. Because that form is sent, there is no need to send the DS-3032 at the NVC stage as NVC knows already that the agent for the case will be the lawyer. So, because that extra step isn't needed, both the AOS and IV bills are invoiced at the exact same time.

No, no need to be alarmed. It does usually take a few days to get invoiced. You should be able to log in soon though.

Perhaps it's taking long because they're invoicing both bills ;)

LOL...I wondered that! Yep, I submitted it and about an hour later got my first SIF. That was the same day they had to update my husband's birthdate...I know that for sure I was able to sign in even that morning, too. Never, ever have I been so antsy to part with $500!

This place is already so much more fun than the depressing state of affairs in the waiting for NOA2 threads. It was filled with those who were gloating about their NOA2s and although they did sympathize with you a little but with all those smileys you could easily tell what they were really feeling inside!

You're not kidding! This place is much more positive and happy-thought filled :) However, sometimes we still get impatient and cranky with NVC because they don't want to take our money fast enough... It's still not as depressing as the NOA2 threads!

I wanted to reach through my computer and punch those people! Especially after the 8th month of waiting.

I didn't mind the occasional 'yay we were approved in x days'

I HATED the 'WE got our NOA2 in x days and blah blah blah' and they mention it like 12 gazillion times.

I e-filed back in February but didn't mail my payment until March 17th. I have never written that big a check in my life. I got the return receipt for it but I have no idea how long it takes for the transcript to be available.

so from what I gather, I should just update my I-864, and remove 2008 return from there. Add 2011 return in it. I will remove part 7 as it is optional. and for supporting documents, I will prepare the tax return for 2011 and the transcripts that I have for 2010 and 2009. I also have my employment letter. Regarding the paystubs, how far back should I go? How many should I send? They are already in PDF format so easy for me to attach. I was going to add bank statements before but will leave it out now. I also had stock portfolios which I won't bother attaching now.

What I have:

1. Cover letter

2. I-864

3. Tax return 2011

4. Tax Transcript 2010

5. Tax Transcript 2009

6. Employment letter

7. Pay stubbs

What else should I add?

Oh, it's definitely more positive in here! There's so much going on and we're all happy for one another! When something good happens to someone else, we all feel good.

And we also tend to go off-topic at times as well, which distracts a lot of people from the waiting. For example, we talked about poutine extensively a few days ago, and we talked about movie genres this weekend laughing.gif
