No, cause we don't have the whole Philosophy range here and the price is obscene... We only get the cute gift boxes for the holidays but they so overpriced I never tried one.

I'll send you the url, but I'm not posting much these days, my mind is busy with other things :P VAT here is 20%, but it doesn't account for the price difference between the US and France. Some products are basically twice as expensive here.

OMG then i will visit Paris just for sight seeing.I thought i would buy a lot of things from Paris but u broke my dream.

Found my passport! It was at the post office, haha. Thankfully they held onto it. I could have sworn I had brought it home with me :P

Glad you find it.Are u gonna resubmit DS-260?

Oh I don't need to. It's an invalid passport (the corner has been snipped off) that was issued in my maiden name. My current one has my married name :) I just keep the old one because first, hey you never know if you might need it, and second, it has lots of visa and U.S. entry stamps in it.

If you can be patient, I can upload a copy of my husband's tax return transcript that we submitted in about an hour after I eat something first.

Both you and the beneficiary will get an interview package. In the PDF, it includes the interview letter (stating the time, date, location), as well as a checklist for what you need to bring, as well as some other useful information. You can view mine here: http://s128.photobuc...erview%20email/

No need to go the tax preparer as they CANNOT help; they don't work for IRS. And yes, it's 100% free of charge.

Hi Saylin, I just looked at this interview letter... maybe my eyes are failing me, but what does the 'R' stand for on page 4?

Also, another question: on the i864EZ when they ask for "current individual annual income" in Q18, can my 2011 income (taken from W2) be used here even though I will be submitting 08, 09, 10 transcripts? Also, I list 08-10 in Q19. Can I do that or is that confusing?

go to page 64.u will find your answere.i used the amount from employment letter.2012 is your current year not 2011

I ask this because I am a graduate student and I don't necessarily make an "annual" income. I am on a stipend and I get paid for as long as I work during the year. Since I go on vacation during summer months, I don't get paid then. So I take my last year (2011) as my guide... My employment letter contained my total income that was reported on my 2011 W2. Other than that, as a student, I don't have a set income I can report. As page 64 says, I can't just take my bi-weekly income and multiply by 2 then by 12. Different pay scale during the Fall and Spring semesters then it is for summer and I've never been around during a full summer (because I go on vacation) to know. What do you suggest? Because my semester pay IS the same every year, whatever I got paid in total last year (2011) is close to what I may get this year, assuming I go on vacation again...

Darnell, check my logic if you would. The interview is on Tuesday the 17th. Presuming that there are no problems and we're approved, the passport with the visa in it will likely show up in around 3 business days. Thus, the odds are very low that we'd have the visa in hand in time for a flight out of HKG on 23April, correct?

whoa , there, sparky.

appointment is the 17th in the email, yes?

That's the DOCUMENT INTAKE DAY.

The next business day, the 18th, is the interview itself.

GUZ IV has no rhyme/reason for 'when the visa packet leaves the building' - it could be 3 days after - it could be 10 days after.

So, yes, the odds are exceptionally low that she'd have the visa in time for a flight outta HKG for the 23rd o April. You thinking of taking the high speed boat in South Guangzhou to HKG Airport Terminal? It's a trip, you betcha...

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !

Yeah, I thought the chances would be basically zero of being able to fly out the 23rd. It's since been moved to the 30th. :)

I would hope that 12 days (8 business days) ought to be enough. If it isn't, well.. I'm not sure what to do in that case.

I'm also trying to decide how long we'll need at POE in Detroit. I would imagine 3 hours ought to be enough, no?

Trips:

Jan2010 - First Trip, met in person

Jul2010 - Trip two!

Nov2010 - Trip Three, Got engaged :)

Can we get tax transcript at the local office?

'we' to include you? no.

your wife can.

your wife's co-sponser can.

it's an easy thing, just walk up to the office, go inside, ask for it, wait 30 minutes, walk out.

I mentioned this about 10 days ago when you 'talked' about having problems with 'waiting' on the co-sponser to get the tax transcripts MAILED from the IRS.

Oh Well.

Have a Good One !

Don't expect to stock up on perfume and cosmetics when you come, everything is more expensive here than in the US, French brands included. I'm gonna tell you a secret, but that's only if you go to the beach today: I'm a beauty junkie and I have a pretty successful blog about makeup, in French of course. I can't wait to come to the US and have access to all the American brands for a fair price! Have your hat on now?

I Know you're secret now too  I'll be waiting for you to give advice on that. Btw, I'm from San Diego, is there a direct flight from Paris to SAN?

okay, and then after the interview, how long did it take you for example, i know spain is different, but just to get any sort of idea...sorry saylin for the constant questions this friday evening, it's just every time i feel accomplished something else comes around to bring me back to the reality that we still have a ways to go....

For me, I got really lucky and got my visa 3 days after my interview. But the DHL location I chose was less than an hour away from the consulate, and I was only an hour away from the DHL location to pick up my visa. In most places though, it's roughly a week.

For now though, you should be focusing on your packages and perfecting them. Don't worry about the interview and such until you have a case complete.

Doing my DS-260 now

"Do you have documentation to establish that you have received vaccinations in accordance with U.S. law? "

Should I answer yes or no? Because Yes, I do have it, but the disclaimer reads: Please note that should you answer Yes to any of the following questions, you may be requested to provide documentation to support your explanation.

If I click "No" a drop down box opens up and simply says "Explain" ... so I feel like I should say "Yes", since they'll be looking at my immunization record at the medical.

I put "yes" and wrote in the box: "I have had a vaccination record since I was born with all the required vaccinations clearly recorded by a health professional."

thank you so very much, just to clear up "The last member who interviewed in Spain got a date 1 month and a half after interview scheduling." this means that after NVC approved their AOS and IV it took 1.5 months to schedule the interview? how long do the AOS & IV packages take to get approved, this is the stage we're in now, sending AOS monday, still not IV bill, and his school starts September, what do you think, is it feasible??

p.s. good point on the Spanish consulate not being overwhelmed, hope this speeds up this tumultuous process

I responded to that question in a previous post. Please, re-read the first two posts. You're missing VALUABLE information.

Saylin, On DS-230 form #23 $ #28 (if deceased,Give year of death), Should i leave it blank or Write N/A on it since PDF wont let you put N/A .

Put N/A as the question applies to you, but they're not dead yet. If the program you're using won't allow 'N'A', then just write it in by hand after you print it.

Went with "Yes" since I'll be providing my history of vaccinations at a later date. All in all, DS-260 wasn't too bad. It asks for your passport number, only the latest visa you have been issued (B2 for me.) Nothing else was too weird.

However, during the process I discovered I've misplaced my passport in my maiden name, chock full of entry/visa stamps. ####.

good.gif That was the right thing to do on that question.

And uh oh.. any ideas of where your passport is?!

Saylin,

My attorney tells me we are filing the combined AOS and IV package today. Not really sure I believe that... but I am at the mercy of what I am told.

Do you want to add this date to your xls - or wait until I can confirm with the NVC next week they received it?

Secondary thought - as it now has the cover letter and barcode, I guess the system will know fairly quickly if something has been received so I wont be waiting days and days.... ?

Thanks!

Phil.

I'd suggest calling your lawyer back and getting the tracking number for the package. That way, you can actually see if he sent it or not. I'll tentatively put today's date just in case, but if you find out it's different, let me know.

And neither the operator nor the AVR will know when a package has been received. The operator will only know it's in the building once an officer has started to review it.

...

Yayyyyy !

We just got the DS-3032 Acceptance email. It was only sent to the Beneficiary's email address. I thought the petitioner would be cc'd in the email because the beneficiary cc'd petitioner in the initial email.

It doesn't have the wordings like "DS-3032 has been ACCEPTED" ! but it just a plain email letter (see below). Hope this is the "DS-3032 Acceptance email that everyone is talking about

"Dear Sir/Madam:

Your inquiry has been received at the National Visa Center (NVC).

We received the principal applicant's DS-3032 (Choice of Address and Agent) form designating an address and agent. Instructions for paying the immigrant visa application processing fee and all future correspondence will be sent to the agent at the address selected on the DS-3032.

...

Yuo, that's the DS-3032 acceptance! kicking.gif Sometime early next week, the IV bill will be invoiced. yes.gif

Any chance you can link your blog? Or PM the link if you wish. I'd love to read it :)
