Removal of Conditions submitted March 24, 2014, received March 26, 2014

04/07/2014 - NOA1 Date

Nah, I was just being a bonehead and following someone else's timeline example that I saw. I know I read you say something like that somewhere, but saw something different and went "ooooooooh, pretty..."

Well, of course you're not going to find anything on USCIS about time lines. You're at NVC, whole different step in this process :P

And please go back and RE-READ POST ONE AND TWO IN THIS THREAD. I have already mentioned how long it takes for packages to be accepted.

As for the time frame AFTER a case complete, well, this varies by country. Use this timeline feature to determine how long on average it takes for those from Spain: http://www.visajourney.com/timeline/k1list.php?cfl=0&op1=3&op2=d&op3=5&op4=1&op5=5,6,8,10,11,13,14,15,16,17,18,20,21,22,25,26,27,28,108,110,111,208,210,211&op6=All&op7=Spain&dfile=No&adv=

yeah the latter was what i was referring to, i've checked these timelines but they don't make any sense, some of these people received their NOA1 and NOA2 within weeks of each other, in California center with Spain being their country, it took me 6 months??? If this is the trend he'll never make it to school on time if it starts in late August. :(:o:blink::unsure:

i was thinking about asking to expedite due to the scholarship/school thing but don't know if that would really work :-( we are already in april and school starts in less than 5 months, i am praying that everything goes smoothly

There doesn't seem to be a lot of Spain filers, so it'd be a little harder for you to estimate how long it takes from CC to interview.

For those that got their NOAs within weeks of each other, keep in mind, they might have expedited, or gotten really, really lucky.

And you can try for the expedite, but be warned, it might not get approved. Probably not a good enough reason for them.

For those that got their NOAs within weeks of each other, keep in mind, they might have expedited, or gotten really, really lucky.

There has been a trend with USCIS to approve I-130 petitions from petitioners who live overseas with their spouse in weeks rather than months. Since direct consular filing is no longer offered at most locations as of 8/15/11 the current theory is that USCIS is placing these petitions in a separate queue that gets processed faster. No one has been able to confirm the existence of this expedited queue, but there are a lot of VJ members with time lines to suggest that one does exist. It seems that the key to get on this expedited queue is to list your foreign address as your home address on the I-130 petition. It used to be that you had to be a legal resident for a minimum of 6 months of the foreign country where you would file DCF, but that may or may not be the case with this special queue.

Another theory is that USCIS is approving some petitions in a matter of weeks so that their overall average for I-130 processing times remains at or below 5 months. For those of us that had the "pleasure" to wait 6 months or more we thank you USCIS :)

Oh yes, that's the popular theory on why some people get NOA2s very quickly with no expedite requested or other foreseeable reason.

And yeah, I've heard about that DCF expedite thing. Looks like it might be the case for those Spain ones...

Welcome!

And yes, the beneficiary certainly can call! I was the beneficiary and I was the ONLY one that called (my husband had a full-time job whereas I just sat at home all day).

You won't need to call three times. Just the once with the same operator.
