Hello All,

I have a question and hope to get advice from you all.

I am a U.S Citizen petitioning for my Indian Hubby. I filed for I130 on Sep 14th and the case is still pending and I was told that I should be waiting for about a month more to get a decision. So my question is, how long do I need to wait for from now until my husband gets the visa to fly over based on the processing time currently taken? Any advice would be greatly appreciated. Also is there anything else I can do at this point of time to make the process faster?(i.e K-3 or something)?

Thank You

K-3 will not make it faster and will actually ruin everything you have done because they will stop your I-130 dead in its tracks.

Have you gotten the NOA2 approval notice yet from USCIS? Have you finished with the NVC process yet?

After your NOA 2 and you are approved you have a lot of work to do at the NVC stage - once the NVC stage is complete well you need to look in your regional forum for how long interviews take.

Pretty much everything after the NVC stage is all based on their country and is country specific.

You should look into the NVC process and prepare yourself so you can get through it faster - it takes as long as you take to get all the papers and things ready and sent to them.

Hey there,

I'm an Aug filer and got my NOA2 just a few days back, but there are plenty of Aug filers yet to get their NOA2s. I'd say, wait until you hit six months and then get a congressional inquiry if you still haven't got it. Once you have the NOA2, NVC could take about a month or two, and then to get a visa interview date would be another month or two, at best guess.
