I just received a call this morning from this Unknown number and the lady told me she is calling from US embassy here and want to know my postal address, and I asked her when I'm suppose to pick my packet ans she said she is going to send me the instruction on how to pick, I just want to find out if that is normal? why are they calling with Unknown number?

Not unless you email them first will they send by email.

They send a snail mail to everyone- don't know how many get it.

Did you list both mailing and residence on your forms? They know that mail will not get to you at a residence so was she looking for just your PO Box?

I would email and ask for a pickup date/instructions.

I got the call this morning and the lady requesting my postal address, in Ghana we don't have home deliveryso the lady ask for my P.O.BOX address and said they will send me instruction on how to pick my packet, but the number is appeared unknown on my cell phone

In the initial application I put my home address there and I think that is why they are asking for the P.O.BOX one , maybe they are changing now , I emailed them two weeks ago and have not received any reply from them yet though

I don't know about Ghana, but I work in a government office in the states. When I call my wife from work, the caller ID shows "unknown number". Lol thats how she knows it is me.

you dnt need to worry abt this, because i was also called wt an unknown number asking for my mailing address after they received my packets. but i will say to be on the safer side have ur fiancee email the embassy and ask them to email a copy of the pickup letter to her, so in that case even if u dnt receive the receive the letter in the mail, u can print the letter they send to ur fiancee and take wt u to the embassy and pick up ur packets.

here is a sample letterr ur fiancee can email to the embassy. send it to ivdvaccra@state.gov
