Processing Times UPDATED

Hi all. Just a heads up to anyone who hasn't seen yet, they updated the processing times for CSC to February 21. For an I-130, it no longer says 5 months, but Aug 2, 2011.

Does anyone know exactly what that means? I've seen later August filers get their NOA2s and as a September filer, I'm hoping ours is just around the corner. I guess my question is, with a "set" date as the time, what are some ways to help judge when we can expect ours?

Thanks so much!

Hi that table is updated the 15th of every month. Once they pass the average processing time which is 5 months. They start to use dates so you can have an idea as to where they are at. The August 2nd date is pretty much a where the bulk of their processing is at right now, so early August filers.

They also use that date to control Service Request and call volume because once if you are not below that date (July 31st) you are not within processing time for any service request or expedite.

I think it pretty much means that where the bulk of applications are at that they are processing....Been seeing alot of late July and early August filers being approved. But also random apps being approved here and there for later August filers.

Here is the explanation below from the website.

If the office is processing a particular type of application in less time than our processing goal, you will see the processing times expressed in months (for example, if the office is processing naturalization applications in less than our 5 month goal, the processing time will state "Five Months"). However, if that office is taking longer than our processing goal to handle the form type in question, you will see the filing date (e.g., "April 10, 2003") of the last case we processed on the date the website chart was last updated. The charts are updated on or about the 15th day of each month.
