Hello VJer's!

I need a little help clarify somethings after NOA2 approval. I have called NVC, recieved my MNL# already and heard from the operator that petition was sent to Manila on Feb 2. I have been gathering up my evidence and will send it to her this week. How long does it take for my fiance to recieve her Packet 3 and Packet 4? I did a search here on what is packet 3 and 4 and began filling out the forms for my fiance to send to her to sign. I did this because my fiance computer crashed recently! I found out the DS-160 are not used for K-1, after I submitted it already to USEM. I will send her DS-156, DS-156K and K-157 forms to sign and submit. How long does it take for the USEM to send the packets to her or what do I need to do to initate the process? I have asked my fiance everyday and she has not gotten any packet yet! In about a couple of weeks, I will have my fiance and future step-kids got for their medical exam after she gets her second id, NBI clearance, CENOMAR and boys get their monthly checkup. Does paying visa fee get the packets submit to her, because I have not do that yet for the previous reasons? I will continue my searching but any advice will be helpful.

Thanks,

Michael

Michael,

As the others have said, there will be no packet 3 sent to your fiancee, you and your fiancee are in the drivers seat now.

Use the link posted by RenCor to point you in the right direction.

You can register online for the medical at St. Luke's, registering online will save time on the day of the medical. This is the link to the page where you can read about what is required and register for the medical. Also click here if you want to read a detailed medical exam review as experienced by a VJ member.

Before or after her interview at USEM, your fiancee will need to attend a CFO counseling session, after which she'll get a stickers placed in your passport and the passports of her kids. If she attends the counseling before she has the visas, she have to go to CFO with the certificate showing proof she attended the counseling, then they will attach the sticker in her passport and the passports of her kids.. Attending that counseling and getting those stickers is mandatory before they can exit the country. Here is the link to the CFO website, you can read about the documents she'll need before attending.

Hi Michael

USEM does not mail out any packet 3 or 4. You need to go to http://manila.usembassy.gov/wwwh3224.html.

Download the K1/K2 Interview Preparation Instructions (English).

You pay the Visa application fee for each applicant (Fiance and Each Child) $350. At this point you can either schedule the USEM Interview Date or wait until medical is finished the schedule. Your choose.

You will now pay for you the fiancé I-129f petition there in Philippines. Fee is U.S. $350 / P15,218. Send a little extra as it is bases on current exchange rate. Cash payment at any Bank of the Philippine Island (BPI) branch. Just go into the branch nearest to her and tell them you are paying for K-1 Visa application fee. They will know what to give her to fill out. If she is unsure on what to fill out ask the staff there to help her fill it out.

To Wally Green!

No see was not married! She will get her CENOMAR when she goes for her NBI clearance. Do we need to fill out the DS-230 for the K1/K2 visa? I printed them out just in case and when I chat with her I will have that filled out too and send to her. I will click on the links and start getting things scheduled! Thanks all!
