I didn't apply for AP - I was put off by the constant reminder that it is not a guarantee that you can get back into the US. Are you guys planning to use it before green card? I would dearly like to make a visit back home and if it's going to be much longer I am thinking to apply for AP now - tough call

We are not planning to travel back unless it is an emergency.

We are not also trying to travel before the green card arrives and the AP is just for an emergency case. So I guess you shouldn't worry too much about having not applied for AP. I think (=hope) we will all get the green cards by the summer.

Nope. His actually expires on his birthday in 2017. Although, now that you mention it, it's kinda strange that his wouldn't expire with the EAD, since they made such a fuss about him having EAD before getting his license...

Are any of you tracking your cases on USCIS Case update? I keep entering our numbers for the 485/EAP/AP, but it's STILL saying case not found, even though NOA1 was 3 weeks or so ago.

Also, what was the average wait time for the SS card. Julian went in about 3 weeks after he arrived (approx 2/20/13) and we still don't have a number. What was your wait times?

We were able to track our cases about the same time we received NOA1. However, a friend of us (who was in US and filed for I-130/AOS/EAP/AP based on marrying to a US citizen) is only able to see the status of one of the cases on the website (other 3 says not found), even though he has done his biometrics and received interview appointment letter. So, I guess you can't always rely on the website. Have you tried calling the USCIS (dis)information line?

As for the SS card, my wife received it about 10 days after we went to the SSA (which was also about 3 weeks after her arrival). I can't remember if it is printed, but maybe you can verify your address on the SSN receipt.
