Help,

So in addition to a few paperwork issues (which is easy to take care of). The interview did not go that well. Julian felt that the moment he sat down before 1 question was asked that something wasn't right. We think it's because we only met on November of last year and I've visited once. We didn't have the funds for multiple visits so were trying wait it out. The CO actually wanted to know why we just didn't get married when he was here the first time. (As if trying to be responsible and get our own apt. etc. was a bad idea). They began to grill him and the CO didn't think we had a real relationship, brushed off our chats/ and emails/pictures and cards as simply not enough. We were not denied, but asked to show more proof from summer on. They gave him his passport and chest X-ray. Julian wants to come for Christmas, which we feel would give us more couple time and time to generate more proof. Can he get in this country now that we are in the middle of this? Or do we just need to send as much hard proof as we can and hope for the best. At this point, we just want to be in the same place.

Any help is appreciated cray5ol.gif

I'm so sorry Mary, I really am so so sorry! This sounds like a nightmare! Hang in there, you know it's worth it, it's worth to get together!

On a different note, thank you all so much for sharing your joy with us. I feel like visajourney helped me so much! It also got me stressed out a couple times though : o) this forum is good ammo for a bunch of 'what ifs' I never thought of myself : o)

I'm flying to Kim this Tuesday, we're getting a civil wedding Wednesday and have a real ceremony and blessing November 10th in Herndon!

Kinda crazy but we were very lucky with vendors and venue that all were ok with our flexible date system. We just paid them and they were all very understanding. Meaning that the wedding is completely setup, I only need to buy nice slick dress pants that fit the jacket we bought earlier. Also November 1st I'll go ahead and move to our new place and Kim will stay with her parents. This is such an exciting time of my life.

Thanks all for your support!

Mary I'm so sorry to hear that!! :( I don't even know what to say. It's so weird seeing a lot of other people being approved and only met one time.....

I think you have gotten some good advice and everything will work out in the end....not helping at all now I know.

At least there is not a denial and there is still hope!

Very happy for you Terri and Michel&Kim! Enjoy!

Thanks for all the kind words guys. I really think in the end, they want to see more relationship proof from summer on. I only sent before June because I sent everything he would need right around that time thinking we'd be approved soon. (remember when we all thought we'd be approved early summer lol). I honestly didn't think we'd need much more. I guess from the CO's eyes, there was no relationship proof past June. It never occurred to me to look at it that way. And, after hearing all the advice that London didn't need to see that much, I put in some more email cards and photos from our trip, but not loads more. The CO asked about call logs etc, which I never included.

So the last few days have been making a list of anything and everything. I'm including call logs, chat logs, wedding dress receipt, wedding plans, a letter from my friend and my father regarding my excitement and THEIR excitement to meet Julian. Cards/Letters/Emails. I went through our chats and highlighted the lovely dovey stuff AND tagged sections where we talked about life, plans the future (the CO kept talking about relationship progression, seeing that we talked about plans etc.). I've really stepped back and looked at it like someone who doesn't know how much we love each other and have tried to include everything I can think of to show a relationship and progression. We've assembled I believe, almost everything we can and I'm sending him what I have tomorrow. I'll keep everyone posted, but I will say that the advice that London doesn't care about evidence is so off base, so I've learned my lesson on that one.

I can only pray now that the thick envelope with 100 pages of chats +everything else might show them that we mean business, if not, I'll be sending them wet tissues filled with tears and I'll be moving to the UK I guess. sad.gif

I truly never thought this would be happening to us. I just wanted him here for Thanksgiving and Christmas, but I guess we most likely be parted during that time.

Sorry to hear that Mary, but glad you have the evidence. As for me, I had something from every month and phone records, even an email that Heather sent while I slept the night before the interview I printed off. When it come to the interview, not one thing was asked for. I can only think they didn't like something in your original petition as they asked to see more evidence and took Julian off to the side room - no one else I know of that had their interview there had the side room treatment.

Wishing you all the best with your new evidence packet and I'm so sorry if my advice :bonk: and others misdirected you.

I wish for everyone going through this process to be with their partners as soon as possible :)

Hey Gav, I'm not sure what you mean by side room, I'm not sure he was interviewed in any room, but you're right in that we are both are sure they did not like something they saw before he even got a single questions. I can't imagine what that was, not enough photos? emails? cards? I dunno, we certainly didn't have binders full of stuff, just things here and there. I thought my trip to see in February would strengthen our petition, but the CO seems to not understand why we didn't see each other more. I'm barely making ends meet, who has $700 to fly every month.

Anyway, no one could have known that this was how it was going down, I certainly never expected it. I figured we'd get the blue slip for the copied divorce decree and then turn it in and be fine. It could be a combination of things, the missing paperwork/Italian police record and evidence, maybe that made it look like we didn't work hard enough. I'm not sure, but I feel good we will get approved once they see all this. Fingers crossed. star_smile.gif

Well for the interview we had to go and stand at a window, there were no seats. When I had my interview I noticed a side room with a seat in for a seated interview - As you said Julian had sat down for the interview, I assumed the side room is where he was told to go.

I personally think with the evidence you're supplying you'll be approved. Sadly it has delayed you being together, but hopefully that can be resolved soon! :) I'll be praying for you!

So good you still have a lot more stuff to show your realtionship is real! As you say, it may have been a combination of things that made them want more.

Crossing fingers that this will be enough and for a speedy approval!!

I'm so sorry Mary!

This whole process is so arbitrary and I always try to include more documents than is needed, Just in case things like this happens. ITs so unfair. No one should have to go through this much Strife just to be together when they are in love!

We're here for you and keeping our fingers crossed!

Not really sure what to say, Mary, except good luck & I wish you all the best! I think you've compiled a good amount of more recent evidence, so hopefully that will be enough to prove your love to outsiders. Hate that we even have to do that in the first place.

I'm so sorry to hear this Mary! All the waiting for this! But as others have said, you haven't been denied - try to see that positively... though you must be going through hell :(
