I just called the DOS and was told our forms have all been received and we're now eligible for interview but that a date has not been set yet! She seemed a bit reluctant to give out information so I didn't press her with any questions on timing...i'll save them for the embassy!!! It's free for me to call the DOS so i'm calling them and when I get some positive news I follow it up with an expensive call to the embassy the next day for more info!!!

Honestly...I have NO idea!!!!! It's the Department of State Visa Information line on 202-663-1225 and if you press 1 to get the options and then 0 to speak to an advisor they seem to be able to access your case. It was them who told me first about my medical being received...then the embassy confirmed that for me the next day! I have a MagicJack so I get free calls to US numbers so it works for me!

Hmm, I remember one of the times I called the embassy. They said that the system gets updated in the evenings, so it sounded like when you phone them you only know what happened the previous day. Sounds like the DOS might see the live status.

Thanks guys, the instruction form leave the pass photo to bring on your visit, and I just got confused because there was a blank spot on the ds form saying 'glue or staple your pass photo here' I guess I'll just leave it like that.

I'm so excited... Tom gets to Toronto tomorrow

He, along with his dad, and our friend/bridesmaid, are coming up for our Jack and Jill shower on Friday. So so so so so so so excited!!! They're only staying for 4 days, but it's been 3 months since I've seen him (and at least 2 of those months were spent with me being all depressed because of the no NOA2 thing LOL), and I am SO ready for a reunion

I've learned Tuesday that the Consulate received my case and that they also received my change of address, so far so good. I hope to find packet three in the mail today or tomorrow! EXCITING!!!

I bought my plane ticket last night to go over there for his interview!

It feels wonderful that I actually know when I'm going to see Aaron: Oct. 25!!! We're going to spend some time with his family (both his cousin's folks in central Uganda and his own people in eastern Uganda: new photos for the interview...) before heading to Kenya for his medical exam, after which I'll fly out from Nairobi.

Plus I tacked on a few days on the way back to stop in and visit the family I au paired for in 2003. I'm connecting through Amsterdam, and it actually costs the same thing for the ticket with or without the extra stop, so why not? I haven't been to visit them since I started going to Uganda every chance I get--2009, I think? The little 4.5-year-old I took care of is 14(!) now.

Yes we did and also included in the cover letter that we'd be ready for an interview at the shortest notice since my fiancée already has all the documents ready to go....I'm so excited right now I can't hide it
