EVA is an airline and the link worked for me. I had to click it twice (used the link in your post) and it came up. This is a price finder and it'll take you to the web site with the price you choose to go to. Again, best of luck!

Bob

Weird, it works if I don't click on anything, such as "flexible" or "include nearby airports" (features that sound useful to me -- oh well!)

Can you elaborate on the problems of buying flight here that originates in the Philippines? My travel agent said she would have no trouble doing that for me. Will the Manila airport accept an email printout for the e-ticket?

Depends on the airline. A friend had her brother-in-law buy her mom a ticket (through Priceline) on PAL, and last week, they wouldn't let her board the flight with the email itinerary (e-ticket). She had to rebook for the next week, charged her over $200 for a change fee, and she needs a photocopy of both the credit card that was used to buy the ticket and the identification of the person whose name appears on the credit card.

Yikes. So, how do I know which airline will allow it? Is this something a travel agent is going to know? I can send a scan of my credit card and driver's license over if they really want it.

That link is for PAL. For Delta, I think the purchaser can go to any Delta counter in the US, and verify the ticket ahead of time. Most airlines don't seem to have that problem at all, but I know first hand about PAL, and somebody here posted that about Delta.

But I need to know if it is valid in Manila, not valid in Boston; will what you suggested actually "verify" that the ticket will now be usable in Manila? Plus, its a long trip for me to go into Boston just to verify a ticket, so I'm not going to do that only to find out it is invalid for travel from the Philippines. I need to know before I buy the ticket, otherwise I just wasted my money buying the ticket.

If you are really worried, send her the money, and let her buy the ticket directly from the airline, or from a travel agent in the Philippines. I would have done that, had I known, or better, flown with her, although my tailbone would have suffered from a quick round trip, not to mention having to entertain the whole neighborhood for the going to America party.

I had to do the PAL thing, and was faxing a copy of my statement to an office at NAIA at 3am because I redacted all but the first and last four numbers on the copy of my credit card I sent to my now wife. The folks at the PAL counter, like most Filipinos, are totally ####### when it comes to not doing anything that makes sense to Americans.

I would just send her the money, but I'm a bit short on funds at the moment, at least until March 15. I kind of have a perfect storm of things going on at the moment... I am dealing with this visa at the same time I'm selling my house and buying another, and I'm also dealing with an insurance claim for flood damage where I had to pay for all the repairs out of pocket then wait to get reimbursed. So yeah, I'm broke, except for my CC that I want to buy the ticket with.

I had forgotten about it until now, but I just remembered something peculiar that happened when I was last in Philippines. I had used my credit card to purchase a domestic flight for my fiancee (pretty sure it was Cebu Pacific). A few days later, the online website for my account that made the reservation was in some kind of "pending" state where it said they were investigating whether it was fraud or not. My own ticket was fine, but hers was not. That resulted in a few hours of running around in a panic attempting to figure out what was going on, and I wasn't even completely sure that the e-ticket would be honored until we were at the checkin counter. That was annoying.
