Well you could certainly hope for no more than a year. We sure are. It's impossible to "precisely" know when you will be approved visa in hand. AR can take months and sometimes even years. Just pray you won't be put on AR. But if you are it's still not the end of the world. No need to worry about that now. We both need our NOA2 first. Then you will have time to worry about your consulate interview. ;) Good luck and God bless.

I don't know what the hell I did on that post LOL. Oh well.

No one can tell you how long the process will take. Many people are still waiting from Mar and Apr for their NOA2s. I noticed that someone said you were in a name check because it is taking so long. They have no idea what they are talking about. Unless you receive official word from USCIS such as a RFE or other such notification, you wont know why or when. Even after you receive your NOA2 you have a long process to go thru, especially considering the region you are coming from. Dont count on one year being too long. It is not unheard of for people from moslem nations to take over a year and sometimes up to 2 years. All I can say is hang in there. You are not out side of what CSC considers normal time frame yet. Good luck.

Ditto what Dwar said. There is no way to know if you are in name checks and you are still within processing times. The delay is the fallout from IMBRA. Try to relax and hang tight.

I have the same question and got the same message - only earlier. When I called, they said that I have to wait until 30 days past the current processing time (March 20) until they can investigate. Since ours was recieved on March 13, we are wondering what happened. We were frustrated when we didn't get the response by the end of July and now its October.

The wait times seem much longer than average. Have you also noticed that there have been a few times where the dates didn't even move for six weeks?

Sorry, no encouragement or answers. Just another person in a similar situation... :(

On JULY 31, 2006, we received your response to our request for

evidence or information. However because preliminary processing was

complete, the remaining processing time will be less than the maximum stated in

this message. You will receive a written decision on this case.

They told us wait for 60 days before u contact us regarding the case and now 60 days passed still no decision and waiting for approval. Moreover i see that many people who file their case of I-129-F after me got approved but i m still waiting so will u help me on what ground those are getting approved after me and when i see the processing date of CALIFORNIA SERVICE CENTER on 19 Sep 2006 they are doing case on 20 MARCH 2006.

When i make contact with the USCIS they say u had to wait more for 30 days how long we had to wait more when i see people are getting approved after me

It is absolutely impossible to tell you precisely when you will get your visa. It is not wise to make a guess.

To my knowledge name checks don't start until after your petition is approved (NOA2) and your case is forwarded to NVC for adminstrative processing (FBI name check).

Your petition could be approved tomorrow, it could be another 2 months.

Name checks can take anywhere from 3-4 weeks to 6 months.

I don't know how long it takes when it gets to the Pakistan embassy - ask in that forum or do a timeline search.

Perhaps your fiance can visit you while you go through this process?

Just hang in there. Be equipped with patient throughout the process! Your not alone in the waiting process, when we were just starting the process from the beginning we waited for 7 months before our petition got finally approved. below is my timeline for reference

We originally file K1 Otc 24, 2005 but we didnt file it correctly so the papers was sent back to my fiancea after 39 days (we got it back on mail Dec 3, 2005) ouch!

so we stated again from scratch on Dec 2005 we mail it back now to CSC. We got out NOA1 jan 5, 2006 but believe me our NOA 2, was only been released on Aug 9, 2006....ouch again!

its been 7 months before we fianlly got approved by USCIS.

but now we are all set. waiting for the PACKET to arrived in my doorstep for the interview & medical sched!

to all of us here....GOODLUCK!

I sent you a pm and will say to take your journey one day at a time and do not make plans for events that can come and go and you will be depressed since you missed something that you have made BIG plans for with your SO. No one can predict any timeline. I just know that you must stay positive and strong and supportive of each other in this process since it will test your relationship. Right now put your energies in talking to your sweetie, making plans (without dates) of where you want to visit, wedding, do not discuss this process daily and enjoy your time apart with sweet cards, emails, messages and chatting. Keep the topics light and try to make each other happy during your wait. Hang in there.

Mary
