And I might add there is no such thing as a flight straight from Cebu to the USA, that I have ever been able to find. Very few from Manila to the USA. There is a daily flight From Cebu to Seoul to the USA. I think it departs Cebu around Midnight.

Sounds like your best shot is just have her lay over in Manila a day or two when she departs for the USA.

Yes, that's the flight I took. The gate doesn't even open until 1030pm local. We flew from Cebu to Seoul with a 4 hour layover, then another flight from Seoul to Atlanta.

I was very happy with the service on Korean Air, they did a great job.

I didn't literally mean "straight"... I know they'll stop in Japan/China/Korea and have a connecting flight.

Anyway, she had the CFO in Manila and that went fine. Waiting for interview, then she flies back to Mindanao, waits for visa, then I buy ticket.

I'm using a local travel agent to make the ticket buying easier... she can make sure there is enough time between connecting flights. I keep seeing the online flights offer 90 minutes -- are they kidding? I found a flight with only one stop, then it lands in Boston (the POE) next... it costs a little more but I'll feel better about that.

She'll have to stay in Manila a night or two to get the sticker and continue on to the flight.

My wife went to the CFO in Cebu, prior to her interview. Said it was not big deal. After she got her Visa she went back and got her stamp.

i live in new hampshire & was planning on having my wife land in manchester

but if there is a chance that her POE could be boston that would be great.

Some of the best deals are on last minute flights. But, it can be hit and miss, as flights are usually fully booked days, or even weeks ahead of time.

KAL is great choice with excellent service. Any layover in Seoul is easy to do in such a nice airport, there is plenty of shopping and cruising the shops she can engage in to kill the time of a layover.

Yes sir, so very true, it is "...high end," and "...the way to go!" I certainly enjoy a layover at ICN, as soon as I get off that plane, I head to the restroom then on to the food court to get a bowl of noodles and a side of Kimchi. Then I'm a happy camper.

i have already found flights for under $990 but 800 bucks sound great to me

well it took almost Php700 including the CFO sticker and also 2 certificates,proving that I took that seminar,b'coz accdg.to them,during departure the immigration will asks that certificates and sticker,without those you cannot leave the country.I did my CFO seminar haft day only but i need to return there for my visa sticker......oh, by the way, just 1 more step & were done w/ our visa process...that is my interview, that would be march 14th, i wish everything goes well

You and I are in the same boat, with similar circumstances. My lady also lives on Mindanao. In my case, my fiancee also has a 5 y.o. son traveling with her, which doubles airfare costs. They will have to stay in a Manila hotel for 4 nights.

Here's my current plan for the medicals, CFO seminar and interview:

Day 0 - they both fly to Manila in the afternoon and check in at hotel

Day 1 - they both do the St. Luke's medical

Day 2 - my fiancee attends the CFO seminar (no visa required to attend)

Day 3 - they both complete the medicals

Day 4 - interview & return to Mindanao

Day 5 - optional overnight stay in case of delays

After receiving the US visa at 2GO in the local Mindanao office, we book their trip to the US.

Departure scenario:

Morning flight to Manila; go pick up CFO sticker ASAP; go back to airport and wait for evening flight to US.

We felt that the risk was too great to have her take the CFO seminar on the outbound leg of the journey at the same time. Completing the CFO requirement and just picking up the sticker should be much simpler.

If necessary, we can also plan for her to stay 1 night in Manila in order get the sticker into her passport.

Doing it this way eliminates an extra round trip for both my finacee and her son just to deal with the CFO sticker.

your wife can do cfo seminar while she is manila they will give her the certificate and she will just come back for the sticker when she get her visa or before her flight there is cfo office at the airport.cebu is fine you'll get done in one day with the sticker stamp on the visa.
