Waiting for Oath Ceremony Letter still!

I had waited for over 53 days after the interview - no oath letter - so I scheduled an InfoPass appointment.

They scheduled me then, for the next available ceremony in my area.

I suggest you wait for at least 45 days, then add another week, and then (if yo still haven't received your oath invitation) go for an InfoPass.

Hello there - is InfoPass appt in person? Have you gone to that time of appt?

I had my interview on April 26, 2012 and was approved. But, I requested a name change and I am still waiting for the oath ceremony letter. Have you had any updates on your case?

Hi there, have you heard anything yet on your oath ceremony date? I had my interview on May 14, 2012 and haven't heard anything yet. Also, requested a name change.

Just FYI did the IO explained to you that in order to have your name changed a judge has to approve it? And you do know how slow the judicial system works here, right?

Be patience, my IO actually told me if you want to change your name, you are looking at a 3 months minimum added to your oath schedule date.

Thank you for letting me know. I didn't know it would take that long when one wishes to change his/her name.

Wow, it's so long. Has she changed her name? Why is that taking so long? Some of my friends passed their interviews in March and were scheduled to take their oath in 6 weeks. They already got their US passports. We all submited our paperwork in the same State and the same USCIS office in Arlington.

No idea. They said that they were doing name checks after her interview. Maybe they need to do more name checks on a new name? Why they don't do that at the same time as the other name checks, I don't know. Also, this office is really backed-up. Like I said, they'll never explain it to us. All we got was one sentence statements like "your case has been delayed for name checks."

Well at least we are not alone in this waiting line. Fingers crossed we will get our day assigned and scheduled to take the oath.

Hey there,

How accurate is the uscis on-line status? My husband and sent our N-400 applications on 4/26/12 and had our interviews on 7/10/12, we both got the N-652 with the congratulations box marked at that time. I already had my oath ceremony on 7/31/12 but his online status is still showing: scheduled for interview. We didn't request any name change and we live in Nova. I guess we will have to request an info pass soon for him... :(

Good news! We went to an InfoPass appointment today and they gave us an oath date! We told them my wife wanted to vote and that the deadline for registration is October 15th. They had an extra court date (Sept. 27) that wasn't on the published schedule. We are very happy! We'll be even happier when we get our letter.

Not to worry people... I've waited 98 days AFTER my interview. Just got the letter for the oath ceremony today in the mail. The waiting time varies a lot from office to office, I guess. I filed my case within New York City Field Office. Good luck and, be patient, the letter will come eventually.
