love your attitude! :luv: stay strong everyone, and that even includes those of us with noa2 but still missing our partners, we're not there yet either. photomile and i had our medical together today, and had lots of fun chatting about a jan meet up and how amazing everyone is on here... we can all do it. goodnight now xxx

I just read your post in the Knightsbridge thread about being able to meet photomile. So cool and I'm sure it was great to put an actual human with the messageboard name. :)

Update: We received the RFE from Vermont today. My fiance had filed his divorce paper that he received from the county clerk's office. It was stamped and sealed and everything, but apparently they want the "Final Divorce Decree" only. Fortunately he has a copy of it (all 33 pages) and we are sending it back to them by overnight express tomorrow.

The RFE also states that from the date they receive our submission, it will take a minimum of 14 days to process the form, and if we haven't heard from them within 60 days, we may contact them. :bonk::blink::whistle:

It all depends on how well the interview go but don't forget every case is different. We are in AP and from what I understand now, there are several things that can trigger and AP. It could be the native country of the Fiancé, his/ her name or even something that was unclear on the information provided. like everything, AP can be cleared in a week, months or even a year no exact date is provided.

You are dong much better than me, you found this site early on and can be prepared better than we did. Prepare well and hope for the best.

Wow, thank you...I will do my best to make sure everything is prepared as it should be. I said a small prayer for you & pray that God will bring you to your loved one very soon. Haturudi nyuma kamwa!

OMG... Can you say glass half empty???? I will take the 8 approvals from today and pray that means some people are off vacation up there... Sorry ya'll but I can't take much more Debbie Downer from anyone! Myself included. 8 is better than we have seen in a long time! kicking.gif

Oh well, let's say I just don't get excited after a week of one approval a day to see six January approvals. I'm not a downer, I just don't want to keep my hopes up as I did for the past 3 months and ended up with a great disappointment each time I saw some movement. And that and only that made me down. Everyone deals with this journey the way that makes them feel better. That's my way of dealing with this now. If I see this consistency for the next 3-5 days then I'll believe something has finally moved at VSC!

Having said that I am of course really happy for each and every person approved today :) that's us getting closer each day with every new approval.. :)

I think we all have our different ways of dealing. I haven't found one that works for me yet. Getting my hopes up doesn't help and fearing the worst doesn't help either. I just try to concentrate on building a future here for me and my fiance and making sure that we both find ways to stay strong for each other. Right now I'm hopeful. Even if this week goes the way of all the others have for me, next week I can put in a service request and call my senator again.

Hi Tex, I don't want to disappoint you more, but VSC takes little bit more time to answer RFE, we received the same RFE from vermont and they took 38 days to answer us, the same for Neetz.

I really hope they are working hard now, so they could take less time to answer you.

Good luck!!!

You are absolutely right... getting ready for your life together keeps your mind busy :) way to go! :)

I am not saying it works for me 100%, some days I am better, some worse... I am just trying not to get excited about a few approvals...specially that we've been there before plus they seem to forget about our little middle January box or wherever our petitions are!

Having the service request in place makes you feel a little better too, since you know that at least you have sth to hold on to! It's been a week now since we managed to put it in and still no email, letter or anything... they have 8 more days to reply and then we will be contacting VSC and the congressman directly again...

Well this and next week for many of us means we are hitting 6 months mark and hopefully we will hear no more excuses from the USCIS!!! I have a feeling we will all be approved by the end of the month :) so 2 more weeks, hold on tight :)

I think so too!!!

I'm also going to say that of course everyone deals with this time in their own way, but I am willing to admit that I personally went to see a counsellor when I found the stress too much and felt no one in my day to day life understand the stress the process was putting me under (Around the 4.5 month mark). I don't think we should underestimate how troubling this can be, and forums are AMAZING, but sitting in a room with someone and being reassured that this is an exceptional time was also very helpful for me. I'm not saying we all go go get therapy! Just, do what you gotta do, look out for number one, and talk about the struggle out loud. To whoever. I found it very very helpful. Typing and clicking and refreshing and internalising everything drove me insane for a little while there...

Having said all that, i'm so sure you're all gonna get good news in the next week or so as you hit the 6 month mark. (Unforgivably late, but my god you will be happy when it comes).

Indeed... no one will ever understand us unless they go through the same thing... it's not easy but there is something that awaits us and that's beautiful and worth waiting and fighting (sometimes with our own selves) for! This is the finish line... it seems to be long but we are getting there slowly but surely !

love your attitude! :luv: stay strong everyone, and that even includes those of us with noa2 but still missing our partners, we're not there yet either. photomile and i had our medical together today, and had lots of fun chatting about a jan meet up and how amazing everyone is on here... but also how incredibly tough it has been, and continues to be. we can all do it. goodnight now xxx

Yes! Lots of speculation and guesswork but we did have a moment where we both just talked about how horrible this wait is and for all of you guys

I just read your post in the Knightsbridge thread about being able to meet photomile. So cool and I'm sure it was great to put an actual human with the messageboard name. :)

Well, we're not quite sure if I'm human yet. All I see are ones and zeros :P

Jeesh all this waiting and now an RFE pushing you back further. I am so sorry, but, as little consolation as it is, at least someone has physically looked at your petition.

Indeed... no one will ever understand us unless they go through the same thing... it's not easy but there is something that awaits us and that's beautiful and worth waiting and fighting (sometimes with our own selves) for! This is the finish line... it seems to be long but we are getting there slowly but surely !

Exactly. If you ever wanted a test of a relationship. The arguments, the stress and difficulty this has caused because of the waiting, the messing around. I think it's only the military that has us beat on distance from partners.

We all deserve far more credit than we actually get for surviving this. Doesn't matter how strong your relationship is, doesn't matter how patient you think you are, this process is infuriating, it's stressful and it's downright painful.
