I've read one or two posts from 2010 and 2009 regarding visiting the London Wells Fargo office to open an account before you move. Do you know if they are still doing this? For those of you that did do it, did you find it easy to do or even worth it?

Thanks!

HSBC is another you can open an account with. As far as I know you are able to open a US account from overseas anyway.

Yes that one is quite high up on my radar since they can do certain things for your credit history as well, the only problem is I'll be moving to Dallas, so unless they set up with one of their partner banks, I don't know if they would be able to do anything for me. Do you have any knowledge of this?
