Hello Everyone, I received my NOA2 on Jan 10th however when I call the NVC hotline they still say they have no record of my case. Is this normal or is there something I am missing?

Met in Feb 2009 while I was working overseas.

Started dating almost 1 year to the date that we met in Feb of 2010.

Returned to the US in Sep 2010 :(

July 2011 - Proposed

Aug. 1st, 2011 - Mailed I-129F

Aug. 4th, 2011 - NOA1

Jan. 10th, 2012 - NOA2

Jan. 18th, 2012- NVC rec

Jan. 19th, 2012 - NVC sent

Jan. 25th, 2012 -Tokyo Embasy Rec.

Jan. 27th, 2012 - Packet 3 Rec.

Feb. 6th, 2012 - Packet 3 Mailed

Feb. 10th, 2012 - Packet 4 Rec. (by E-mail)

Feb. 22nd, 2012 - Medical Exam

Feb. 23rd, 2012 - Hard Copy of Packet 4 Rec. (Same as information in E-mail)

March 12th, 2012 - Visa Interview

March 14th, 2012 - Visa Recived

May 29th, 2012 - Came to USA !!!

June 8th, 2012 - Married :)

June 12th, 2012 - AOS/EAD/AP Packet Mailed

June 18th, 2012 - NOA for AOS Packet

July 16th, 2012 - Bio

Aug. 23rd, 2012 - AP/EAD approved

Hello Everyone, I received my NOA2 on Jan 10th however when I call the NVC hotline they still say they have no record of my case. Is this normal or is there something I am missing?

Normal. Our case took about 10 days between NOA2 and NVC receiving it, and then another 2.5 weeks to get a case number. If you're only calling the automated system, it will say they have no record of your case until you get a case number (3 weeks or more). If you talk to an operator, they can tell you if the NVC has received your documents before the case is actually entered into the system and a number is generated.

No problem! Forgot to note, I don't think there should be any difference between K1 and IR-1/CR-1 at that stage...but correct me if I'm wrong!

I'm not sure either, my understanding is that the NVC just gives us a case number and the fowards the petition to the correct embassy. Well,anyways thans for the help, if there is something wrong I am sure someone will let us know.

i have been waiting since Jan 5th and a friend that got approved on the same day called and spoke to a person and they said call back next week

It took us nearly 3 weeks for VSC to send our approved petition to NVC. Once it finally arrived, NVC was able to give me the case number the next day. For some people it takes a few days for the petition to get to NVC, for other people it takes weeks - no rhyme or reason. Hopefully yours will arrive soon... good luck!

Check my timeline! It took a while for NVC to receive our case and assigned a KLL case number. But once you have it, everything will go pretty smooth!

I called up the NVC today and spoke to a person, they were able to tell me that my case had been forwarded to the Tokyo Embasy on Jan 19th. However the system still says that my case has not been received yet. It seems the trick is to talk to a person.

Thanks for the help everyone!

I will call tomm as well. I got my NOA2 on Jan. 18th and sent an email and they replied today saying they haven't received my case yet.
