Ok so my woman has her interview scheduled for next month and i was curious....how important do you think it is to send an affidavit from some kind of ordained minister saying he has been contacted about getting married? Did any of you not have that and pass ok? I was wondering because I'll send that if i have too, but would rather not because i want to get all this additional info to her right away. I want to send the last bits tomorrow but I'd just go UPS if i have to wait for that. Any help is appriciated thanks

Personally, I don't think that will carry any more weight than any other piece of evidence to establish your relationship. You could have a letter from the Pope and it's not going to stop them from denying the application or putting it on Admin Review if they feel the facts justify it. I would say the I-134 being in order is as important as anything with those people.

One never know which bit of evidence one may have that convinces the Conof of a bonafide relationship. If you feel you have sufficient to show that then I wouldnt worrying about. If you feel it could help some, then send it.

I agree in that if he feels better sending it them go right ahead and do it. The point I was trying to make was don't think that was some silver bullet that was going to sway the interviewer if something else was out of line.

Personally I've never even heard of a letter from a minister being used, only a letter of intent to marry from the petitioner. So, I wouldn't worry about it but if you would feel better sending it then do :)

the ONLY thing i had with me at my interview was a letter of intent from my fiance.. didn't have a wedding date, no letter from anyone else.. just the letter of intent from my fiance.. I didn't have any problems getting my visa.. they actually only asked me like 2 questions..

TracyTN,

Don't let your man hear you saying that!

Yodrak

Good luck to 'your woman' at her interview.

Being referred to as "my woman" is rather archaic...and here in the south a bit on the redneck side. Not something I appreciate, personally. :)
