I have a friend in the process of getting his wife to U.S. on a K1. Interview in 3 weeks.

How difficult is the interview? His wife doesn't have a clue of what is going on. She didn't even know her husband filed K1 for her until last week.

I'm thinking not much questions since they are only engaged.

My wife just went through interview for CR-1 and it was difficult. 30 minutes of questions!

06/10/2011 - I-130 package sent USPS priority mail with delivery confirmation

06/14/2011 - NOA1

10/21/2011 - I-130 approved (NOA2)

11/19/2011 - NVC recevied case

11/21/2011 - Called NVC for AOS bill and DS-3032

11/21/2011 - Paid AOS Bill

11/21/2011 - EP request and DS-3032 to NVC

11/23/2011 - EP came and DS-3032 accepted

11/23/2011 - Submit I-864

11/28/2011 - Paid IV Bill

11/29/2011 - Submit DS-230

12/05/2011 - Case completed

12/08/2011 - Interview date set

12/11/2011 - Medical exam

01/11/2011 - Document intake day

01/12/2012 - Interview - Approved

03/09/2012 - POE - LAX

first suggestion is to get it straight... the words wife and husband can't be found next to the word K1

- the lady just knew about the filing now? what magic did he pull off on the 325, letter or ppixs?

Wow. Just what I was thinking. How did he get all her info if she is just learning about this now.

Must be a very close relationship?

wife or fiancee??

without forging her signature this just isnt possible. plus he would need to know her parents dates of birth... and if he has forged her signature then there could be bigger issues than what questions she will be asked

I am hoping the answers to these questions is " the FIANCEE cannot read'. K1 is for unmarried couples and she needs to have been involved in the paperwork stage so...

CR-1 (for Husband):
09/15/2012: Got Married
09/26/2012: Mailed I-130 from Nigeria( delayed by customs)
USCIS stage ( 66 days)
10/12/2012: NOA 1
12/17/2012: NOA 2 (case was transferred to NYC office 11/27/12)
NVC stage ( 20 days)
01/08/2013: Case # and IIN assigned ( file arrived NVC mail room 12/20/12)
01/09/2013: AOS invoiced and paid, DS-3032 emailed and mailed.
01/16/2013: IV invoiced &paid. AOS & IV mailed in one package(arrived 01/18).
01/28/2013: Case complete!!!
04/19/2013: Interview; APPROVED!!!!!
05/13/2013: POE; JFK

N-400: (3 months and 12 days)
Filed N-400 : 2011-06-17
Interview: 2011-09-27
Oath Ceremony: 2011-09-30

IR-5 for Mom Entire process took 5 months exactly
USCIS (22days)
mailed I-130 : 2011-09-30
NOA 1: 2011-10-03 (text & email)
NOA 2: 2011-10-25 (text and email)
NVC: (19 days)
Case entered and # assigned: 2011-11-18
NVC Case COMPLETED: 2011-12-07 ( 43 days from NOA 2 and 65 days from NOA 1)
Interview Date(Lagos): 2012-01- 23 Mom was late for interview
New Interview date: 2012-02-29 : VISA APPROVED

Yes.. it was my mistake... she is FIANCEE..

She knew her fiancee was applying her to the states, but no idea on which process. Looks like she will have fun at the consulate!

Just wondering if the K1 interview questions were difficult. Thanks!

From what others have shared, just know enough info that one should know about someone you are about to go start( or continue) life with. If either one has a past that may raise red flags, she shd be ready to asnwer as honestly as she can. Go with all necessary documents( better to go with too many than not enough)
