I had my interview on December 7th and was asked to submit additional documents. I submitted them on Dec. 23rd and they were delivered on the 28th. I have received 2 emails from the Montreal IV and they both said the documents will be reviewed within 4 weeks from date sent. It's been 4 weeks and still nothing. I called DOS and they just tell me that the documents are under review. It's been 7 months now that I've been apart from my husband and it's just not getting any easier.

Does anyone know how quickly the consulate is processing visas recently? I know the holidays may have delayed everything but am trying to stay hopeful that my passport and visa will be returned soon.

Really feel for you... were still in ap 7 months after interview... im sure your embassy will process this ap much faster than ours and you will see the end soon. Not too many ppl from your country get lengthy ap... it does happen but its few and far between. Im sure this will end in the next few weeks to month for you. Best of luck!

Received today January 19th. Guess the Montreal Consulate is very backed up, as expected.

Good day,

Thank you for your inquiry.

We regret to inform you that the U.S. Consulate General in Montreal is

currently experiencing a huge volume of return mail to process. We are

doing our best to process it as fast as possible.

Your case will be reviewed shortly and the Consular Officer will advise

you of the results.

Thank you for your patience and understanding.

Sincerely,

I really hope I get my passport back soon. It's just been so long.
