Hello all,

I am very interested in marrying my fiance soon.

She is currently in Holland & I am currently a US citizen here in Florida.

I want to know what I need to do in order to have her live here with me and become a US citizen as well.

I read about the I-129 form but I saw some other options as well.

Just need to know where to start with all of this since I have never done any of this before?

Thank you for your time

Yeah, deciding on which option works best for you can be daunting . Generally, your choices are fiancee visa or spouse visa. Acquaint yourself with the Guides section at the top of the forum page for listing and comparison of the options available to you. Believe me, there are very few of us that have done this before. ..lol...

Good luck.

YMMV

if your not married yet,you can file 1-129f k-1 visaafter about 6 months and approval she comes to the us and has to marry within 90 days, after that you file adjustment of status forms 1-485 for green card, and 1-765 for EAD TO WORK 1,070 dollars do your medical, and get your vaccinations, medical form 1-693,civil surgen certify.if you get married there then you file 1-130 cr-1 visa it takes about 8 to 11 months, less money and you get your green card and you can work with your social security card.when you arrive in the us,you decide good luck.

take a look at the guide above to help you decide what visa is best for you both. She is far from citizenship, but she can become a legal resident by choosing either a spousal visa or a fiance visa

Good luck

Thank you for the responses.

She came came to the US 3 years ago on a student VISA to study English.

The Visa was for 1 year. Then she changed her F1 that you went to another school.

From there they let her Study for 36 months.

Now she switched her VISA to OPT.

She now went back to Europe for a few months and plans on coming back soon.

She will be able to stay legally for 1 year under her work VISA.

How long is 'a few months'?

I believe the OPT is useless after 30 days of not finding employment directly related to the major she studied so I am pretty sure she cannot come back

good luck

If she is traveling in on a work or student visa I would caution her not to mention ANYTHING at POE into USA about her boyfriend (you the OP).

Mums the word!
