I'm filing the K1 visa, but I'm currently unemployed since I'm 6 months pregnant. I have a co-sponsor which is my sister but I was wondering could there be another co-sponsor like my Mother?! We all live in the same household and I was thinking that may increase my chances of not getting denied. My sister makes 16,000 a year or so. Thanks for the help.

Your sister does not qualify to be a co-sponsor, for a house hold of herself + the immigrant she must be making $18,387 annually.

The thing is my sister does make $21.000 a year but this is before tax deductions. Will this be ok?!

Does she have any dependents? You need to add her and the number of people she cares for plus you.

No she has none! It would only be my fiance.

With herself and your fiance then she needs to make $18,387. With 3 people, like if she supported you too, it would have to be $23,162.

Would your sister be up for this? Does she know what is involved? Make sure she is on board 100% so that she is completely willing, there are stories on these boards that once a sponsor reads the details of the I-864 they back away.

Being its a co-sponsor does that mean they can combine incomes with the sponsor?

Isn't income based on GROSS before taxes?
