Married is married. Just have a certified copy ( and translation if necessary )

No need to register your marriage in the USA, they recognise foreign marriages.

I have just read in a post about registering my marriage in the US. Don't know how to do that. I do have a SS card in my new name though and driver's license. Can anyone tell me what to do? I tried looking for this but couldn't find info on it. Thank you!

No need to register marriage. Why are you posting in the K3 forum. The visa you'll be wanting is the CR1. K3 is virtually no longer available.

I haven't figured out where to post, I thought I was in the right one, that's where I saw the post that made me ask the question. Have you no patience with newbies?

Of course I have patience. I just asked you a question. No need to get testy. Now you know to post in the correct forum. It appears above this one in the list.

What visa do you hold, and are you in the USA now?

Sometimes my language usage seems confusing - please feel free to 'read it twice', just in case !
Ya know, you can find the answer to your question with the advanced search tool, when using a PC? Ditch the handphone, come back later on a PC, and try again.

I am in the US and have a Gambian visa.

Some are confused. I'm assuming you are the US Citizen. Your visa to visit Gambia is not the issue. Darnell was laboring under the assumption you were the foreigner. A foreigner would have US visa category.

Please clarify. Are you the US Citizen? If so, go back to the first answer. No need to register your marriage in the USA. If you went to the SS office to change your name, you can change all your ID based on the translated foreign marriage certificate and your new SS card.
