Welcome. Get ready for the journey of your life.

During the journey you will cuss, USCIS, USEM, NSO, and NBI. Days will seem like years. You will think documents got lost and sweat blood waiting for "delivery confirmations".

I made six trips to the Philippines during the K1 process, not because I thought it would help, but because we missed each other so much.

My one most important singular piece of advice is: Don't bother cleaning your house before she arrives. One of the first tasks of a new filipina fiancee/bride after arriving here is to show you how lacking your housekeepings skills were.

Hi There,

My first post. I have been using the site for some good information and advice, but haven't been doing any posting. I also met my Fiancee online in May of this year. I visited her where she lives in China in August for two weeks (16 days), which went fantastic. I then returned in November and visited with her a week (9 days) then. Sent my I-129F in on December 16th, and got my NOA1 in the mail yesterday, Dec 22. I know it's going to take many months to go through the whole process. So gald I discovered this site, it is a fantastic place for information and to help get through it all....

Happy Holidays everyone

If I did that, I wouldn't see her again for a month after she arrives!!

May your visa journey be smooth and speedy.

You seem like a nice and sincere guy, so a bit of tough love advice: Please visit and spend MORE in-country time with your fiance prior to filing the 129F. It's not that that I doubt the sincerity of your relationship, but the CO will not be so forgiving.

I will let some of those with PI experience chime in, but high fraud locations are no cake-walk and require at least a few visits.

Philippines may be regarded as a high fraud consulate but the process is nothing like going thru China, VN, Nigeria etc. It's pretty straight foward and only requires a few extra steps compared to other consulates (CFO seminar, CENOMAR document for example). I've hardly ever seen anyone denied from this site although there are the occasional 221gs that are usually just a missing document and easy to fix. Couples put on AP seem to be the exception, not the rule. I think Philippine couples typically seem to send much more evidence of their communications than other locations but whether the excess is necessary I don't know.

Conrats and good luck on your journey OP!

I offer my congratulations as well. As some others have stated, only going once may not be a big issue in terms of getting a K-1, although I have read where some did have issues. The main point of visiting more than once is to really get to know your fiancee. You can read some of the many stories here where a woman came over and just before, or soon after marriage, things fell apart because there were few really deep common denominators.

There is a big rah rah crowd here, that not only have no problems with only one fairly short meeting, or large age differences, but if you look at their profiles ( for the most part), many are not even married yet or just recently. I would ask them to visit again after a few years and then voice an experienced opinion.

I do wish you good luck, but please spend more time with her. It will only pay off in the long run. A few weeks vacation is not quite the same as living day to day doing all the normal boring things like work, cleaning, shopping, mowing the grass and just stuff. I am sure you understand.

Hello!

Met my fiance in person on December 1st and he proposed on bended knee on December

2nd, in front of my family!

Now, we're so excited and looking forward to sharing our future together. Being new

here on VJ, we are hoping to get some tips and pointers on how we can proceed with

our documents with as little problem as possible.

We've read some great reviews here. And as we go on with our quest, I know that it

would be easier for us to achieve our goal, with some guide from VJ and the nice

people here.

Happy Holidays to everyone!
