then i have a bunch of choices :) I guess I will wait next week instead since my bank is one hour away and shifting money around is such a pain. gathering from the posts, Im still safe to send it within 60 days of my GC expiration date.

Visa Journey is always so great with info

I know what you mean! We moved to a different city back in April and our money is now in 5 different banks. We only have access to 2 of them in our current city so we have to do a lot of transactions online. We're thinking of finally closing one of them just so we don't have to manage so many. It's a good thing that one of our banks has a Money HQ feature which allows us to link our other accounts with other banks so we can transfer money online - it takes 3 days but it's a lot better than driving 5 hours to get to the bank. :)

I would love that feature with my bank! Unfortunately, one of our bank is only available in our state so it doesnt have cool features. I am now down to 2 banks... one joint and our own personal bank account... we had 4! I just closed the others down. hooray for online transactions. That's the only way we can do it.

I've always wondered why more banks didn't have that feature. That one bank is the only one with the really cool Online Banking, Bill Pay and Money HQ features - and it's a Credit Union! Our other banks just have standard Online Banking that allows you to transfer money between accounts in the same bank only.

We are aiming to cut down to 3 banks - 1 for our main savings account, 1 for our emergency fund and 1 for bills and spending money. Right now we can't close the 4th yet because that bank required us to open an account with them when we got financing for our 2nd car - I guess they wanted us to actually start banking with them but what I do is just keep the minimum maintaining balance in that account and then transfer money through the other bank's Money HQ for the car payment every month. :D

Just make sure you include statements spanning the length of your marriage. A lot of people just include one statement from each year or every 6 months to show continuity. In our case, my husband and I included copies of our signature cards that show what date we opened our accounts and then most recent bank statements. For one account we didn't have copies of our signature cards and we were enrolled in e-Statements which we neglected to save monthly and only had access to the most recent 12 months worth of statements so we also included copies of our debit cards showing the same account numbers (we blacked out the numbers except for the last 4).

Hi! Welcome to the group!!! ^___^

The most important thing - do not forget to include photocopies of the front and back of your green card.

You can also include photocopies of your drivers licenses showing the same address :)

Greetings, everyone.

I mailed and had my I-751 package delivered before the holidays and saw that my personal check for $590 was cashed on January 4th. Does this pretty much guarantee that my wife will be getting an extension on her visa while the case is reviewed?

One more question: We're thinking about moving at the end of this month. Do you think this would cause significant complications? We've been at the same address since we arrived here, so I am also wondering whom I should contact to notify of an address change.

Thanks!

Yes, your wife's NOA should be on its way! ^__^

You would have to change your address with USCIS within 10 days of moving.

* Your wife must file the AR-11 and you must file the I-865. *

The quickest way to do it is online at https://egov.uscis.gov/crisgwi/go?action=coa

Or if you prefer, you can mail the form - at http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/ar-11.pdf

You must also file the I-865, Sponsor's Notice of Change of Address - http://www.uscis.gov/files/form/i-865.pdf

CORRECTION:

Non-U.S. Citizens

If you have moved, you need to follow two different steps:

Step 1: File a Form AR-11 (This changes your address in our master database.);

Step 2: If you have a pending case, you must also file a Change of Address online or call our National Customer Service Center at (800) 375-5283. (This changes your address for the specific application you have submitted.)

Please note that if you are a non-U.S. citizen and you have a pending case, you must complete both steps to make sure that you comply with the regulations and so we can reach you at your correct address.

Awesome! Thanks so much for the quick reply and the links!

Hi again! I'm sorry, I posted a correction above - once you have a pending case, your wife MUST file the AR-11 (paper form) AND change her address online to change her address on their master database AND the pending case.

Thanks Fatima/Jim, I did include the photocopies of the green card, just didn't think of mentioning it here, it was such an obvious one...

Adding the DL's with the same address is a good idea. I'll add it to the package and send it on Monday.

Cheers,
