OK filling out this I-130 for my wife now.

( I have requested my other topic to be deleted it went off topic and random I am reorganizing my thoughts to be more productive for myself and others in a similar situation )

Short back ground and info.

Met My wife online originally in October 2009 Talked with her etc just friends at first.

Got a Job Offer in Indonesia in December 2009.

Came to Indonesia January 2010 for a job.

Met my wife in person.

We agreed to get married then.(WE are Muslim so not allowed to have a long courting period)

Got all my papers finished with Indonesian immigration/manpower April 8th 2010

We got married on April 9th 2010 (

were blessed with our son in January 2011

We live together in Indonesia since day one of being married.

We would be coming to the states AFTER our 2nd anniversary.

We Will be living here until we move back to the states.

We have a son, he has already gotten his passport,SS#,CRBA.

My Original intention was to stay and live in Indonesia, but some Indonesian government regulations changed and put me out of work & my mother has become increasingly Ill, I want her to get to know her grand son and my wife in person and for us to help take care of her.

So now we start the process to come back to the USA.

few questions. on a few different issues.

Mailing and stuff etc questions.

I understand since we are living abroad, we have to send the papers to the Chicago Address given.

I do not want any of the papers to be mailed to INDONESIA.

They would probably never get here or come 5 months late ( there are very bad postal service ethnics in Indonesia )

I repeat I do not want them mailed to Indonesia we would never get them!!!

Question.

I want them mailed to My/My parents address in the USA, How to do this. I only want them sent to my Legal US address.

=================================================================================================

I have no way to make a Money-order here. Two options in my mind.

Option A. Make HD Scans of everything after signed, Email everything to my parents after signed, they make the M.O for us and mail it to the Chicago Address.

--

Option B. Sign everything and send it Snail mail to the State to my parents, they make the money order and send it to the Chicago address.

--

my problem with Option B is that Hell it takes 35 dollars just to mail stuff to the States from Indonesia, and half they time it never gets there.

My Question with Option A is that I have not read anything about not being able to send in scans.

Is it allowed yes or no. I Can not find a yes or no answer..........

Hey, where are you in Indo? We are just starting on this, literally days from mailing the I-130 and wondering what you have found out. Perhaps we could compare notes. We are in Bali. Send me a PM if you are interested.

I am living in Bogor

I still have no idea yet.

All i can think is just put your legal us address......

Then have your parents forward everything to you. But i do not want to say for sure, because I have no idea.

You can attest to the ethics of the Postal service here in Indonesia they are horrid and worthless.

Indonesian post is one of the worst rated in the world lol.

SO I am still Waiting for someone with more knowledge to key in on this topic. as it is affecting more then one person.

Again, I can't say for sure as I haven't done anything yet either, but I do have an attorney involved as a consultant. Perhaps you may want to contact him as well. My situation is a little different than yours as looks like you have a KITAS or some sort of residency in Indo, whereas I'm a Sosbud/temporary visitor, just I keep renewing. Since I'm not a resident here I have to go through Chicago, however if you are then perhaps you are eligible for a DCF filing. I think that sounds easier, but then again I don't really know. My Attorney/Consultant said I should put my parents address as that is where we intend to live in America (until we get a place of our own).

Also, knock on wood, the mail has been ok to us, although we rarely use it. We are in Bali though which is a little bit more in this century both technologically and politically. If you do DCF and deal directly with the Consulte then you could use Tiki or something which is supposed to be more reliable (although when we got married the Tiki took forever to get us our prenumpt). There is also FedEx, DHL & UPS in Bali. I don't know about Bogor. Most of them contract out to local couriers anyway though.

Send me a private message if you are interested in a referal to the Attorney. He is not expensive nor does he technically act as your Attorney, but more as a consultant (with a flat fee unless you want him to do more). Frankly I've only posting stuff here because I decided to stop torturing the guy with my maticulous questions and cut him a break since he isn't charging me too much. He has helped me a lot already. He is very affluent in dealing with South East Asia, claims to have done 100s of cases in SEA. Worth a phone call or email at least. Let me know.

For mailing address, put a US address on the "information about you" section on the form I-130.

For the other section, Option A is a non-starter; scans are not allowed. For Option B, you can use a service such as UPS, FedEx, or DHL to sent it to your parents if you are unsure of using the Indonesian postal system to mail it (the 3 services I mentioned probably cost more than $35).

Everything that Ryan H just said is also the same advice my Attorney/Consultant guy told me to do.

Only other thing worth mentioning is since you are a Resident of Indonesia you should think ahead about proving you have a Domicile in the U.S. as you can't sponser your wife unless you have a "Domicile" in the us. Another member "Anh Map" sent me this link earlier today regarding the same thing: http://travel.state.gov/visa/immigrants/info/info_3183.html#3

Are you a resident here (KITAS/KITAP/VITAS) or a B211 tourist (VOA or SOSBUD)?

I have a Kitas I am on my second Kitas , first was work sponsored, second one in wifes name. if your married its really easy to get a kitas just take your sosbud to the immigration office and apply for the change. And im only a temporary resident. and for the USA I have current utility bills in my name( for the past 7 years) and a current US drivers lisence on my legal us address., and for establishing domicile in the usa, it "Can" be established by saying you are going to arrive in the usa at the same time or before your spouse and living at an address

from the site

How can a petitioner establish a domicile?

When a sponsor has clearly not maintained a domicile in the United States, he/she must re-establish a U.S. domicile to be a sponsor. The aspiring sponsor may take steps, including the examples given below, to show that the United States is his/her principal place of residence

Find employment in the United States

Secure a residence in the United States

Register children in U.S. schools

Relinquish residence abroad

Other evidence of a U.S. residence

I have the two highlighted in blue. Also as seeing i am only on a "Temporary residence permit" the word temporary comes into action. and also as put in italics When i leave Indonesia I have to relinquish it as i will be leaving on an Exit only permit. All my documents and everything will be given back to the Immigration office etc.
