I made a Bone Head mistake last Tuesday when sending in my Responses to the RFE!

Sure! I sent it certified mail, return receipt requested.

But in my haste, mixed with always a bit of anxiety that so many of us experience when sending/responding/communicating with

USCIS,... I meant to, but didn't ALSO tell the postal worker: NEXT DAY DELIVERY!

So,... it's been a week, and I'm still waiting.

That seems a bit long, Louisiana to Vermont.

I'm gonna call uscis and/or go talk to the post office today.

QUESTION: Does USCIS ALSO send text message/email upon receipt of a response to an RFE?

--priority mail

--express mail

It's not the end of the world. Just be patient.

We only received an email from USCIS when we sent in our RFE.

an end to this mini-crisis: I went to the post office, not far away, and he said "they received it on the 16th" , so that was within 3 days after being mailed.

So, I guess to answer my own initial Q: No. The uscis does not send email or text message upon receipt of responses to RFE'S....

.............So, now I can climb back on board the ANTICIPATION TRAIN of WAITING for APPROVAL.

Sometimes they do, sometimes they don't. The same applies to http://www.uscis.gov/portal/site/uscis

Yes you do get a text message when they receive an RFE

I hope everything goes well..

in our case, they received evidence one day after sending it and they updated the case status the same instant...

and then comes the 60 day waiting period which took us 75 days to do so...

Keep calling USCIS and if nothing comes up i wouldn't hesitate on sending a second package with new evidence

A Q' about RFE..

After is approved, Does the process in NVC the same for everyone, or will we just get an appointment right away since we did the same process in NVC less than a year ago before the visa was denied in Embassy?

Will there be an appointment in Embassy to pick up Visa or for questioning again?

Yup. This is one of the best lines ever said about USPS tracking. They can't be trusted!

Never had anything lost in the mail everythinf arrives on time. Sent lots of stuff to china for my wife she always got sooner or on the date they said she would and was much cheaper too than ups or fed ex.

I used to send up to 40 packages per day via USPS. They have never lost any.

For those who complain, just be smart ahead of time, pay online, get your tracking number, insure your packages if you think they may be valuable.

If you complain about USPS it means you never had to deal with postal services in the third countries

Well, or just other countries in general I'm positively surprised about the prices here, and options. It cost me 50 dollars to send a few documents to my US(now) husband and then I couldn't track it after it left Denmark. A former mail guy just got caught with around 5000 letters he'd not delivered. Penalty? Maybe a small fine and that's about it.

To the OP, my now husband asked his mom to send the original i-129f petition due to work and she send it the absolutely cheapest way there was. Needless to say I was cranky(important papers for me at least) however it made it and took around 10 days to get the first NOA. My fiance also forgot to put the G-1145 form in there so nothing could be tracked.
