Last ten days of Ramadan are here and these are known to be the best few nights to ask for our prayers to be answered. I was at taravie yesterday at our masjid the lecture was about praying for others. So the next few nights I'm only going to pray for others and not myself,. Because to be honest I think Allah already has given me things and taken care of me. So if you want me to remwmebwr you by name and pray for you send me an IM. Next taravie is in 12 hours from now.

Please keep me (Ali)in your prayers. Exactly one year now in AP.

Here is what I am doing and it may help someone else. When I got the email with the CO expressing her "feelings" that we are not bona fide

I reminded her of the guidelines for returning petitions memo. Here is the link:

http://travel.state.gov/visa/laws/telegrams/telegrams_1388.html

I reminded her firmly that a CO is not to re-adjudicate a petition but have factual evidence for refusal of a visa.

Personal belief, assumptions and mere speculations are not acceptable. I am fighting on these grounds. I also forwarded the memo (link) to my senator.

We jumped immediately on it when I received that email. I replied to her firmly and reminded her that factual evidence is needed and not a gut

feeling. The very next day, today actually, I received a response and she corrected my status from " recommendation to revoke " to " recommendation to USCIS review." She called it clarification but it is a change. I take this recommendation to review over revocation, it is a tiny step up to hope

of reaffirmation.

The senator is staying on top of it as well.

Either way it is a return and I am fighting with all I got to get it reaffirmed rather than passively allow it to sit and expire like most returned K1 visas.

My fiance was asked to come and pick up his documents which I again questioned and asked why are they not needed if the case will be reviewed by USCIS and if reaffirmed, why would they not need them for a second interview.

I expect to hear a reply tomorrow.

There are no guarantees but I am not taking it sitting down. I am pro active. This is the time to act and fight. Immediately after a petition is returned, better yet right before if you can catch it.

Fighting AP is useless, you will run into a brick wall. You may get your case returned quicker by involving a senatorial inquiry during AP.

It seems to joggle their minds that you still exist. Don't rattle their cages too early when you are in AP. My patience was exhausted after 16 months and it was then I contacted the senator and 2 weeks later case was returned.

Now I am fighting and can actually be effective in minor changes which may turn out to be the big difference.

Time will tell. My hope is in God's grace whatever may happen.

One year in AP now and my patience is running out as well. So, your recommendation is not to involve the sanator and wait for as long as the case is under AP?

If you have never involved the senator and youve been in AP for this long then you need in get them involved!!!! we've had ours involved since 6 month

it only takes a phone call and signing a form saying they have permission to inquire on your behalf

they cant make AP end but they can show the embassy they are interested in your case and show the embassy you are serious about your case

Hello everyone,

Okay, so I need some advice/information/consolation (if, at all possible). I am 8 months pregnant, born and raised in the U.S. My parents are Pakistani, and last year went to visit family in Pakistan. Long story short, fell in love with a Pakistani lawyer...got married to him and I chose to live in Pakistan with him and his family for about 5 months. But I missed home...and wanted my prenatal care and birth of the baby to be in the U.S. ( plus my mom was ill). So I applied for a visit visa for my husband, which we decided that we can spend time here (a couple of months) with my family...and he can be here for the birth of the baby and then we would go back to Pakistan together. Well, didn't quite turn out as well as we planned. He had his interview on May 9, 2012, CO kept his passport and asked him about his brothers and sisters' names and occupations and gave him a white piece of paper notifying him that his case was placed under administrative processing. In the application, and in person..my husband stated that his wife (me) is an American citizen and we would be traveling together (eventually I came alone, can't travel during the third trimester of pregnancy). So now, it's been past 90 days and we are still waiting for that phone call... He can't come here and I can't travel there...and I am due next month in September. I have a sneaking suspicion I am going to have this baby without him (our first baby!!).

I miss my husband :( and as each day passes I'm getting more stressed out with the thought of my husband not being here to hold his baby when the time comes ( Only possible solution to him being present on delivery day would be Skyping...when I'm in labor). I don't know what to do as this point, should I call my senator? I mean, my husband has to be here to sign the baby's certificate and we have to register our marriage...doesn't that count for anything?

Need suggestions please! Would appreciate ANYTHING at this point.

I'm sorry your husband has been in AP so long and you are due next month. There is not a whole lot you can do to get him out of AP. You can always contact your Senator or Congressman and ask for their help. You can also fax the ambassador of the embassy and ask for his assistance.

Im sorry for the AP but you can contact your senator as CArolyn suggested. They can't get you out of AP but they can get better answers for you. There are loads of us in the same situation and the best thing for you right now is not to stress too much and have a healthy pregnancy and baby. They do care about your situation but they care more about the safety and security of USA and that's what they are working on.

I'm in a similar situation except my daughter has a brain tumor but all we could do is send the medical records and let the senator inquire about our case. We know they are working on it but it just takes time. If you look at the volume and not just here on VJ but the volume of applicants at the embassy you will see it takes time to check each person wishing to come here and its a long process. Sometimes longer for some as the checks they do can be different.

It sounds like they are just checking his background and once that is complete then the visa can be issued. Stay strong and dont stress too much... your baby is counting on you and your husband and will be here whether or not your husband gets the visa so focus on that. Wish you the best and our prayers are with you.
