Called DOS today and the representative stayed the case is still in AP, but they are working on it. Can anyone tell me what this really means. Because this is the first time I heard them say they are working on it. It just you standard BS statement? Or does it mean something else.

Are you waiting for an interview? Have you finished your interview? You got NOA2 months ago. congrats!

I feel since you filled out your timeline you will be approved quickly!

Seriously, there is no way to tell who will be approved quickly and who gets stuck in AP.

All I see on this site is many people who are in AP. I do not get to see all the quick approvals.

Many people say 99% of Pakistans will go thru a lengthy AP.

Many people said 99% of Muslims go through AP in Egypt but through my VJ research it only shows about 66% of them go through AP. In Pakistan that number would be much higher from what I have seen.

Good Luck on a NO AP or a Quick AP.

Thank You 'togetherforever13' and specially "EAbbas" for the usual support. Check out the update.

Post Decision Activity

On April 24, 2012, we mailed a notice to you reaffirming the approval of this case and returned the case to the Department of State for visa processing. For more information, please contact them directly.

Now my case was approved in Jan 2012 but was sent back to USCIS and me wife never even received any kind of an RFE. However I am very happy and relieved. Thank you God.

That's wonderful news!!!! so be prepared then for the interview... you never had your interview yet correct? Did your case go thru NVC yet either?

If not.. it will so check out the shortcuts (this can save a month or two) for NVC which means you will start calling NVC soon to get a case number and tell them you want to have them send you emails for the AOS and IV bill and you can do the email between you and NVC and the online portal page. Once all that is done you submit your documents thru overnight service with sign upon receipt so you know when it's arrived. Then you keep watching NVC and calling until it's completed and they give you an interview date.

If you have already gone thru NVC and don't have to go thru NVC again then just prepare well for the interview! Good luck and keep us posted!

Congrats Emran,

I am curious to know how you never knew where your case went from USCIS? Did you never call about your case?

Have you read and researched enough now to know what to do next?

Did you have an interview?

Did the case ever get to NVC

Did you pay the fees or send in the DS-230 or I-864?

Stay on top of your case from here on till the end. Call NVC everyday and ask for status and if things were approved..

And ask on here what you need to do next. We all want to help people succeed.

Also read LingChe's shortcuts to NVC

and send EXTRA proof with the DS-230. Send more pic and phone bils, visit prof, emails, letters from your family approving the relationship

Good Luck

we are here when you need us

You made me cry!!! (L) thank you for your love and support... All i can see is it says normal so i pray that this normal will indeed become finished soon!!! at almost 11 months and seeing visas issued after 9 months to a year makes me believe it will be very soon. AP is the hardest thing i've ever gone thru and all we want now is a normal life... you know.. the kind where you get frustrated because laundry is on the floor or who gets home first starts dinner or for us.. both of us being so clumsy... one trips over the other foot.. but being thankful for all of that at the same time! I just really really really miss him!and it hurts...

EAbbas you are making me cry. Just reading how you envision daily life brought tears to my eyes.

I talk often to my husband and friends (none Visa journey folk who don't get it) about a dear young lady.. you, and I think of the sweet stories you tell of the Skype and you leaving it on and your baby girl comes and ask if she can come sleep with you and daddy. How precious is that.

I know soon soon we are going to be celebrating with joy over your great announcement. God will never fail. Our delays are not a denials. Just a way for us to get things in order.

Okay back to the thread. Sorry to have highjacked. (Looking around.... I am even in the wrong country LOLzzzz). :D

Actually my case after being approved was sent back from DOS to USCIS (for whatever reason, my wife who is the USC called them but they said they ill only get back to the after 180 days which was absurd) Anyways, it is re-approved and re-sent by USCIS to NVC on 24 April 2012, so my wife will wait atleast a week before she starts calling NVC. And No, my case never went through NVC yet so I didn't have the interview as yet. We have read thoroughly LingChe's shortcuts to NVC and will abide by it, hopefully this would be smoother.

If you follow the shortcuts you may only be at NVC a short time.. it took us about 6 weeks from the time we got the case number until we got the interview letter...all our documents were accepted without any RFE so it will go really fast if followed correctly!!!! GOOD LUCK!!!

I called DOS to check on my case this morning because when I called on Tuesday they told me that Administrative Processing was complete and I should hear something from them if not this week then next and that I should call back on Friday to check it again. Today they told me the same old Administrative Processing response so I mentioned what the other individual had told me on Tuesday. The person I talked to today told me that they will ALWAYS say it is under administrative processing UNTIL it says the Visa has been issued. I wanted to share that piece of information here so that you are all aware of that.

She told me that ours had VERY RECENTLY been worked on but would not give me an exact date.

Sooo although I have hope that our case is coming to an end, to what end I am still not sure of, or when.

Also I was up very early this morning at 3:30 so that I could call the US Embassy in Islamabad and hear what they would tell me about my Case Status to see if it would match up to what DC was telling me BUT I was never able to get thru. I called every half hour atleast 10 times each. I was either directly hung up on or transfered to a voicemail box that was full and then hung up on. I tried this up until 6:00 which is when I have to get up and get myself and my kids ready for the day.

Continuing to Pray, for Us and Everyone! Please have a good weekend!
