Hi, My case is in AP since 11 june 2008,thats almost 4 years. i don't know wht to do,should i go for some attorney i.e mandamus law suit?or i should do something else?

My Suggestion is, you should talk to immigration lawyer I don’t think Senator or congressman can do anything at this stage as it’s been 4 years which is veryyyyy long time. Talk to Immigration lawyer.

I think all Pakistan people in AP for over 1 year should get together and file a writ of mandus together. They cannot deny all of them and this would cause media attention to show how they are not efficient and I believe it would be a huge embarrassment to the embassy to show like 10-20 writs all filed at once

May 24, 2011 NOA1

Sept 11, 2011 NOA2-took 19 days to get case number

Sept 30, 2011 NVC number and IIN received Friday-gotta wait till Monday

Oct 13, 2011 Case Completed- 13 days from receiving case number Took 32 days from NOA2

Nov 30, 2011 Notified of Interview date

January 19, 2012 Interview- 240 days from NOA1

INTERVIEW RESULTS-APPROVED WITH 14 WEEKS AP--but he got his visa in 56 days!!!!!!

PLEASE EDIT YOUR TIMELINE IN YOUR PROFILE SO OTHERS CAN LEARN HOW LONG EACH STEP TAKES IN THIS PROCESS

That is a really good idea! Our case is not in Pakistan...but I follow this thread because my husband grew up in Morocco (MENA country) so we are in a similar situation w/our AP...although we have not been waiting a year yet, I am very dissapointed in how flawed this system is...especially when it comes to AP! I was really fired up about it the other day and my coworkers and I were throwing ideas around about trying to contact the media to put out a story about some of the cases that take so long and all of the hardships we are all put through...it may not do much good - but then again, it may shed some light on the issue - and who knows...maybe the right person might see it...you never know...I don't know...just putting that out there as an idea for some of you who have been waiting so long...I'm sure we've got some pretty epic tragic love stories among us...the media loves that stuff ;)

God delays but doesn't forget.

I know if I was in Ap I would start a thread asking all people in Ap over 1 year who were ready to start a Writ of Mandus to contact me

I would have my attorney standing by to represent all of us

and we would all go from there

I thought about that too but it seems for Islamabad when you file the writ it seems to force their hand to make a decision and then the denial comes because they werent ready to complete the case. I feel stuck and lonely and heartbroken that there is nobody that can help nobody to contact to make an effort not just on our case but to see whats really happening to all of us. We arent the only ones here on VJ there are many more ppl out there but we have no idea what's happening to htem because we dont have the information available...

I dont want them to stop doing the work on our case i do want them to finish it but i dont understand why this embassy takes months and even years longer than any other embassy..

My husband and i didnt do antyhing but fall in love after a year and a half... all we want for now is to be able to have a life together and for right now that life has to be here so i can be with my children too... im a good usc never been in trouble paid my taxes and have good background .. otherwise i wouldn't work in a bank.

My husbands background is also clear hes never been in trouble never done anything but lived his life and gone to school and worked in his company ... for whatever reason its taking a long time .. if they could just tell us that they are waiting on something anything other than pending then I would have more hope that we are nearing the end

I pray they finish the work soon and finally our happy ever after will come...

I have been tweeting about my AP time on Twitter. I use the hashtag #IslamabadAP and you all are welcome to do the same. It seems like the government focus' a lot on social media (specifically Facebook and Twitter) perhaps if we could get it "trending" they might atleast pay attention? Just a thought.

I can't tell you how many times I have wanted to scream this fact out for my case as well. I even served in the military for 10 years. My fiance wouldn't hurt a fly. This is what makes me so mixed up with emotions of sadness and anger and frustration. We met on a social network and because of that we had a "red flag" but that is what social networks do! They connect people! I totally feel you on this EAbbas. We have gone thru the process and have done everything right and given everything that they have asked for and are willing to give anything else that would help us close the distance that separates us. Just give us a chance to be a family! That is all we want!

Everyday I wake up missing him and every night I go to bed missing him and all thru the day, I miss him. AND then I tell myself that I am blessed to have someone to miss and to have that someone miss me too! :)

Let's all try to stay positive that because we have done our part to do right that our hard work will soon pay off - InshALLAH!

Love and Hugs to you all!

all though I am the man who is supposed to be strong but even i cant help it when she starts crying this is tearing me apart . I check my e mail every hour just to see if Islamabad has wrote some thing and i cant express the disappointment every time I open my inbox they just don't replay to e mails this really sound like a jungle rule where there is no transparency I hope some one will do something to change this .lets wait for the next week to see some news

If you are a male and applying for an immigrant visa, your case are most likely going to go on AP. No matter what the situation is. If it does not then you are one lucky guy. My situation is way different than most of the members here. I'm a USC and have applied for my parents. Both of my parents are old. My mom's case was approved but my father's case was put on AP.

Both of my parents had visited me twice in US. They already got the visit visa once from Islamabad embassy back in 2000 to attend my graduation ceremony.

My parents are very loving, caring and friendly. They never broke any law. They never overstayed while they were here. I thought their case would be very simple and straightforward but now here we are with over 9 months of AP. :(
