I remember George Carlin saying war is an issue of who has the bigger #######. I believe he is right. Invading a weak country = easy way to feel like you have a large #######.

Some of us don't need to invade a country to feel that way.

If the government is going to force me to exercise my "right" to health care, then they better start requiring people to exercise their Right to Bear Arms. - "Where's my public option rifle?"

What do we gain by going to war with North Korea?

Going to war with those crazies then would have resulted in a huge death toll for the people of Seoul, as well as for our troops stationed there. Those who would go to war anyway are stupid beyond belief! Trying to prove their ####### is biggest (remember the stuffed crotch in his flight suit, posing under the mission accomplished banner), like GWB against Saddam H!

We are still at war with N. Korea...all we have is a cease fire. We do not have peace with NK. Just for the record. If they take our ships, we should go to war. If we hold we are there to protect S. Korea, then when the north shots artillery into civilians and sinks a ship, we should retaliate.

Why? To honor our agreements and treaties and alliances. We have become a paper tiger by inaction and allowing Americans and allies to be attacked, taken hostage or prisoner.

Or...we get out of Korea altogether as with all other countries, and defend only the American territory. I can live with either choice...but the half-azzed policies we've gotten caught up in are ruining us and we are seen as weak. That's never a good thing.

Everyone loses the next Korean War.

Stuffed?

Everything's bigger in Texas!

So I guess we should've gone to war with China when they captured the AWACS?

The situation in Asia is extremely fragile and we have to watch our every step. I don't think diplomacy makes us weaker over there. Unnecessary wars do though.

Those who advocate for war should answer whether we are stronger or weaker in the eyes of the world for what we have done in Iraq and Afghanistan. The American blood and treasure left over there is a very high price to pay for indulging the armchair warriors and chickenhawks desire for adventurism!

I judge that is a bad war and we can not win this war as currently fought. Iraq was also fought poorly and we got nothing for our efforts...not even oil which so many argued was our true reason to be there. OK, where is that oil? The Chinese bought the rights to it. To win in Iraq we needed to stop Iran. To win in Afghanistan we need to stop Pakistan. It's really quite simple. We simply need the heart and guts to do it.

As for diplomacy...that seems synonymous with appeasement and surrender. We've gotten nothing from N. Korea by talking to them except they continue making bombs and missiles that travel farther and farther. We scrapped a good defense system against Iran because Russia was unhappy. If we aren't going to take action, why are we still in Korea? Germany? Japan? Let's go home and to hell with them. Or let's do what we say we will do and deal with it.
