I am pretty sure that you will need to get police certificates from both India and UK, since you lived in India and are now living in the U.K..

best of luck

Indian Police Clearance Certificates should be obtained as follows:

  • All Indian IV applicants aged 16 and above, residing in India, should obtain police certificates from the local Passport Office.
  • Indian passport holders applying for visas outside India should obtain a statement from their local embassy or consulate confirming they have no criminal record.
  • Non-Indian IV applicants residing in India should obtain police certificates from the District Police Station serving their area of residence.
  • Indian police certificates are not available for foreign (non-Indian) applicants applying outside India.

my interpretation of that is that unless you have an indian passport then a police certificate isnt available to you... but i would check with the indian embassy in london seen as you used to be/still are?? an indian citizen. sorry dont know if you gave up indian citizenship when you became a UK citizen

You need to have a police certificate for everywhere you've lived for more than 6 months after the age of 16, regardless of citizenship.

unless you are an indian passport holder or residing in india then a police certificate isnt available

As mentioned in the other thread he has, he still needs to make an effort to prove he tried to get this information. I also posted that in case he has lived anywhere else.
