Oath Ceremonies over the holidays?

My wife had her interview in Louisville, KY on November 22 and got her approval letter. With Christmas & New Year's approaching, will there be a delay on scheduling her oath ceremony?

I understand they only hold the ceremonies in Louisville and I guess they wait until they have a certain number before they schedule a ceremony.

Any thoughts?

I wouldn't get your hopes up - many corporate offices (and I don;t think the gov't is different) work on a skeleton staff during the Christmas/ New Years Holidays because employees like to take that time off - it's really only 4 days anyway. Mon Dec 26th is the holiday for most folks.

January would be fine, Kathlene keeps asking if we got anything in the mail about her oath-taking. She had a short interview and passed all the tests with no mistakes. I told her not to worry.

I am out of vacation days until January, so that way we could take a couple of days off and spend some time in Louisville.

Maybe someone can tell you more about Louisville, but I know they are doing Oath's in Seattle over the holidays. I interviewed on Nov 21 and my Oath Ceremony is on Dec. 27. They seem to be working as usual over the holidays.

Hope you get your date soon!

Hi,

I had my exam on nov.17th in JACKSONVILLE, FL and was told within a month will get letter with info about oath ceremony but haven't got anything yet. I tried to find online oath ceremony offices/ or/and scheduled dates but didnt find any information about upcoming events, only about past.

Any idea guys, should I contact someone?

Everything ,all stages of application, went very very fast so far and got stuck with that ceremony now... :(((

Kathlene still hasn't gotten her oath letter, should we keep on waiting or should we contact them?

I think we should just wait a little while longer, I just worry what would happen if for some reason we did not receive her letter & missed the ceremony . . .

Just check my case status online and this is what i see:

Oath Ceremony

On January 24, 2012, we placed your application in the oath scheduling que. We will send a notice when the ceremony is scheduled. If you move prior to the scheduled ceremony, please use our Change of Address online tool to update your case with your new address or call our customer service center at 1-800-375-5283.

Naturalization Applicants: you will receive your certificate at your oath ceremony. You can expect to be scheduled for an oath ceremony within 45 days of receiving your recommended approval. Many offices schedule approved applicants for the oath ceremony on the same day as the day of the interview. Please check the local office profile page on our website to determine if the office where you will be interviewed schedules same day oath ceremonies.

Thanks God it means i will be on the list of people for sure will getting a ceremony soon. If not this Feb. 3 maybe next to that..

And DOGWOOD_POET check your status maybe they also update ur wife status..
